"Okay so all you need to do is keep your eyes on the path in front of you. Use your feet to turn, and the sticks." Tyler readied me.
"I don't know if I can do this."
"Aw come on. Everyone goes skiing. I can't believe you have never!" He snickered.
"If you want fight me, then fight me." I put some fist out in a joking way.
"I know you can do this." He put his hands on my waist.
"I am just scared of heights and stuff." I sighed.
His arms snaked around my body, steading me. He whispered huskily under his breathe so only I could hear his voice. "I will be right next to you the whole time." He moved the hair in my face, behind my ear acting like he was going to tell me a secret. But he placed his lips on my ear, making my knees buckle. Bringing warm air to my body.
"Okay I think I-i can do this now."
"Thats the spirit. I just had to inspire you."
"You did more than that." I mumbled.
"Huh?" He smiled.
"Nothing.." I said nervously.
"Hey guys! Hurry up!" Posey screamed. "Y'all are holding up the whole line."
"Okay we are coming!" I called to him.
Right then, I started sliding as fast down that mountain as fast as I could. I took Tyler off guard as he tried to catch up to me.
"You will never beat me!!"
"We will see about that!" He yelled.
He raced past me, I tried following him.
We got to the bottom of the mountain. And right then, a tree came out of nowhere.
"Alyce!" He screamed before I crashed into the tree.
"Ouch." I rubbed my head.
"Can someone get me an ice pack?!" Tyler called out. "Are you okay?"
"I am fine, Mom."
"Okay really, someone icepack- like now!"
Someone rushed to me with an ice pack. I recognized the face immediately.
"Here." This guy said without once making eye contact with me.
"Chris?" I said. He was the guy that asked me out at school.
"Ohh...heyy Alyce. What are you doing here?" He said nervously.
"What are you doing here?" I interrogated. Okay, I am officially creeped out by him.
"My grandmother likes to come here on the weekends. This is where I work."
"You drive all the way up here each weekend just to work here?!" I asked.
"Yeah."
"Um okay."
"So whose this?" He ranted
"Chris, this is my boyfriend that I was telling you about the other day." I cleared my throat. "Tyler."
"Oh, well it is a pleasure to meet you Tyler." He put his hand out.
"I am confused, wait how do you two know each other?" Jealousy rising out of Tyler, still leaving his hand there.
"School." Chris put his hand back.
"Yeah, he kinda asked me-" Chris looked at me, disaproving what I was going to say. "for h-homework."
"Really?" Tyler questioned.
"Yep." He popped the 'p' out on yep.
"Okay well, thanks for the ice pack.." I replied making the awkward tension even worse.
"No problem. Hope your head feels better." Chris walked away nervously.
"What was that all about?" Tyler asked massaging the ice pack to my head.
"Ummm, nothing. He kinda asked me out at school, and I had a bad feeling about him. I thought he followed me here or something."
"Did he hurt you in anyway?" He placed his hands on my shoulders.
"No what makes you think he did?" I asked.
"I saw the way he looked at you." He looked down thinking that I actually had feelings for him. His protective side was really shining through.
"Aw Tyler, you don't need to worry. I barely know him. Besides I like you, and only you. He is weird, but you don't need to feel threatened by him." I put my hand on his broad, toned arm.
"I just don't want you getting hurt." He pouted.
"I am fine. I just bumped into a tree, not like my arm got chopped off."
"I guess you're right. It looks a little better, the swelling went down." He reassured me.
"Good." I smiled.
He kissed my forehead making me blush.
"Okay well, that is enough skiing for one day." He put his hands on the small of my back guiding me to the car.
"Wait, y'all are leaving?" Dylan called out.
"Yeah, we will meet y'all back at the hotel." I said.
"Okay, see you later!" He walked back with Holland.
I called Katherine in the car, and told her what went down at the hospital and everything.
"Yeah! It was great! Okay well I will talk to you later. Okay bye."
"Hows your head?"
"Better."
"Good." He grabbed my hand.
"You are so protective."
"I know." He smiled. " I can't help that."
"I am glad you are."
