My whole life I have lived in the beautiful place I call home. My mom told me that we have to move to Los Angeles next year, I didn't react so well. But who could blame me? Who would want to leave their perfectly happy home? I didn't have much time to say goodbye to my friends.

I was told on the first day of Summer. Great way to start Summer, I know. I didn't really get to do anything fun this summer. I basically just said goodbye and packed up everything. I couldn't be mad at Mom, because she works so hard for me. We are moving, because of her job. She works as a nurse.

The hardest thing I had to do was say good bye to my home. Where my brother, Ryan and I have lived since we were little. It is the only thing we have left of our Dad, he died when we were born. Ryan moved away not to soon after. He has his own family now. I miss him sometimes, but I can't do anything about it.

It was now the last day before I am scheduled to leave with my Mom. My friends said they have planned something special. I have no idea what it is.

"Can I take the blind fold off now?" I laughed.

"Not unless you want the surprise to be spoiled." One of them said.

"Okay. You can take them off now." Another one said.

I took them off, and out came out a crowd of all of my closet friends at the beach. They really over did it.

"You guys!" I shouted. "You didn't have to do this!" I smiled.

"Well, how can you stop us? It is just the way we wanted to say goodbye." One spoke.

"Thank you so much! I love it!" I cried out hugging all of them.

We hung out and said our last goodbyes before we went our separate ways. It was like 10:00 in Australia, so I decided to call Ryan.

"Hello, this is Ryan." A familiar voice spoke.

"Ryan!" I laughed.

"Woah! Wait is that my favorite little sister?" He chuckled.

"I am your only little sister." I corrected him in a teasing way.

"You are kidding! I couldn't have mistaken that Mom had another one. Her name was Miley?"

"You are possibly the world's worst liar, you know that?" I smirked.

"I miss your little sass." Ryan said.

"I miss you too. Who knew all that childhood of fighting would make us say we actually miss one another?" I replied.

"Yeah I know right! How is the moving going?" Ryan brought up.

"Oh yeah you know all great!" I lied.

"Really?" Ryan sounded surprised.

"Yeah, yeah." I choked back my tears. "Honestly, no. It hasn't been the easiest. I just don't know how to say goodbye." I could no longer lie. I had to be real with him.

"Aw, Alyce. I am sorry to hear that. I wish I was there to hug you." Ryan replied glumly.

"You don't know how great that sounds." I smiled.

We just got on the plane. My mom is sitting right next to me.

"So, are you excited to meet some new beach boys?" She asked happily.

"I guess so." I tried to smile.

"Alyce, are you still sad?" She put one of her hands on my shoulder.
