I awoke to the smell of mouth watering pancakes. I picked up my phone only to realize I have had eleven missed calls.Seven from Tyler and four from Katherine.
"Ughhh." I sighed
"Good morning sunshine. Slept well?" Chris called out. He was still wearing his outfit from last night.
"Is all of this with Tyler just a bad dream? Or did it really happen?" I asked not really wanting the answer.
"Do you really want the answer to that?" Chris hinted.
"I screwed up bad didn't I?" I sighed.
Chris brushed his teeth in the bathroom next to where I was sleeping. "You really did." He mumbled through his actions.
"How am I going to fix all of this?" I thought out loud.
"Well, might I add he did try to call you seven times and counting. And, you failed to return those calls to him. So, I strongly suggest you start there." He concluded proudly.
"What if he doesn't forgive me?" I whimpered.
"You can always seduce him."
"Chris."
"My bad, my bad."
"Thank you." I added. "But seriously, what do I do?"
"Call pretty boy for the love of God!" He commanded.
"I can't just do that, he was still wrong."
"So were you! It wasn't just his fault." Chris brought up.
"He never told me one of his parents were dead, Chris. Maybe I overreacted a little but that is still outrageous. I mean we have been together for almost four months." I explained.
"Ally."
"What?" I turned away, trying not to let any more tears make me look weak.
"I'm sorry. I keep forgetting you went through a lot in the past few days." He said softly. With that, I began to reminisce on all that happened in the past few days.
Laila's last breath. Her talking to Tyler. Sam grabbing Paige crying on the floor. Her piercing screams through the hospital room. Me leaving Tyler, seeing the poor, hurt look on his face. My sobs crying on Chris last night.
Tyler.
It all hit me like a brick when I remembered. I sunk even deeper in my chair than I was originally.
"I have to go back. I have to make this right." I snapped out of it and hopped out of my chair.
Chris just stared at me. "What, w-why?" He seemed almost hurt.
"Chris, I-I love him." I mumbled the words through my mouth.
"Ally, I love you." He whispered.
"W-what?"
"Nothing, y-you should go after him." Chris stumbled upon his words.
"I will. I-I mean I am." I grabbed my phones and started picking up my things.
"Oh." Chris sat down and looked away.
I started putting on my jacket. "Look Chris, I appreciate what you did for me last night and today so much. Like you have no idea. I will pay you back some way in the next week or so, I have no idea how but I will. You are a true life savor. That meant the world to me." I paused looking for the right words to say. I know he likes me, but I love Tyler. I can't lead him on. It isn't right. Don't flatter him, Alyce. Say the right thing. "You've done so much for me on such little notice. That you so much, but Chris I can't stay."
