I shivered under Chris's embrace. It was so freezing in his house. I looked around and scoped out some picture frames. I saw one with him and his dad, he didn't look happy at all. Then, I saw one of two people I didn't recognize, the woman standing on the right of him must have been his mom, the one of the left had to be Nathan. Right then, the door slammed open nearly giving me a heart attack. I immediately let go of Chris and stood in my tracks.

"Chris I just realized we forgot the-" A tall, lean, young- looking man too in front of my eyes. He was just a more developed version of Chris, only stronger and taller. It gave me an image on how  Chris might look when he gets older. The guy standing in front of me was- "Hi, I am Nathan, you must be."

I interrupted him. "Alyce." I met his hand halfway and shook it while making eye contact. His grip was firm and compelling. "I am one of Chris's friends."  I saw Chris tense up when I said that, I ignored the fact that it did.

"Well nice to meet you, Alyce. I am Chris's brother." Nathan made known.

"I know." I smiled politely.

"She knows." Chris said a bit annoyed.

"Okay, well I am sorry. I didn't mean to get in yall's way, I think I will just leave y'all to it then." I started to walk toward the direction of the door waiting to meet Chris at it so I could tell him bye.

"No, it is fine. I totally interrupted yall's conversation. My fault." Nathan took the blame.

"Its my fault. Trust me." I responded.

"Um guys." Chris said.

"No let me." Nathan continued.

"GUYS, dad is coming. Let's go now!" Chris started to head for the backdoor. Right then, I saw a tall, angry looking man with a blue flannel that had a stain on it. He wore jeans that were partially bleached, looking like on accident. This man looked like a complete and total mess. He had some of their features though. It gave me a visual of how Chris might look when he gets much much older. It wasn't a comforting feeling this time. I stared out the window still looking at the figure that was approaching the door now at a quicker paste.

"Come on Alyce, he isn't the dad you want to meet." Chris dragged my hand, suddenly snapping me out of my daze. My feet started moving faster before I could even think. Great, it was now pouring down raining again. Just lovely. My open toed sandals were now over flowing with water and dirt from the grass we were cutting through. Nathan followed shortly behind. We somehow ended up to the mover's van in front of their soon to be old house.

"We made it." Chris let out a breathe of relief. I tried to catch my breathe from all that running.

"You finally get to leave this place." Nathan said as they gave one last look to these old memories standing right in front of them.

"Guys, what am I doing in here? I can just walk back.. it is literally live 4 miles to my house from here." I pointed out.

"Ally, be practical. It is is legit raining buckets right now and you are wearing a very thin dress that doesn't have a back, and how are you expecting to hike four miles in those open toes shoes? You will role your terribly weak ankles! My God, please think for a second! You are already shivering enough. Just stop trying to do everything yourself and let someone else do something for you for once." Chris said very abruptly.

"Well okay, Mom." I spoke in a sarcastic tone. "Why you gotta worry so much? I would be fine."

"Okay your choice, hike five miles in that." He indicated to my wet outfit that was no falling apart due to the rain and fence it almost got ripped apart on with my sandals that were full of nasty dirt and grass. "And get raped, or we can turn on the heater, you can warm up, and we can take you home to your nice, warm bed full of cozy sheets."
