Ay-Shinn gave a loud shriek as the shot grazed his cheek, leaving a glowing, smoking orange mark where pale scaly skin should have been.
Maina stood there on the aisle, pointing her blaster at the bewildered reptilian. Her piercing glare was cast towards him as intently as her gun.
"H-How dare you?!" yelled an outraged Ay-Shinn.
"How dare I?!" retorted the Ardonian princess, shaking as she pointed her weapon at her groom. "How dare you?! You come to my planet, you threaten my father's kingdom with war and you expect me to marry you?!"
Everyone present at the wedding watched in shock and apprehension at the scene unfolding. The invaders had their blasters pointed at Maina, but she did not move an inch.
"I will never marry a megalomaniacal monster like you," said the girl as she prepared to pull the trigger once more.
But in a fraction of a second a sharp sound like the cracking of a bullwhip was accompanied by Ay-Shinn's head whipping, and in that moment the gun was struck off of Maina's hand by that tail-like appendage on the back of the invader's head.
"Hehehe," chuckled Ay-Shinn. "I was expecting some sort of betrayal."
Maina held the hand that was struck by Ay-Shinn tightly as she continued to set hateful eyes upon him.
"Do you really want to do this, my Princess?" asked Ay-Shinn alluringly. "It is not too late to reconsider."
"I would rather die," replied Maina defiantly.
"Unwise," said Ay-Shinn, as the tentacle-like structure on the back of his head started slithering around in the air threateningly at his side, where the king and queen were watching in shock at the events that unraveled.
"Maina, what are you doing??" said Queen Alleina in a reprimanding manner.
"Forgive me, Mother," said Maina as she looked back at her mother fervently. "But why should we have to grovel to this scaly-skinned aberration?"
"Maina!" said the bewildered queen.
"Well it seems we are betrayed then," said Ay-Shinn with a devious grin.
And as he said that the ghastly appendage struck like a serpent in the direction of the king and queen, effectively impaling them both through the torso, to Maina's horror.
The princess was powerless. She looked on as Ay-Shinn pulled his venom-laced head-tentacle out of Zoluur and Alleina's bodies, which dropped lifeless on the palace floor.
For that single moment she could not speak. Her eyes were widened as they slowly welled up, and her mouth was agape. Tears rolled down her striped cheeks.
Ay-Shinn however seemed amused at what he had done. The vile creature threw his head back and laughed maniacally.
"Do you now see what happens when you defy me, my princess?" said the pale-skinned reptilian, an evil grin upon his lips. "Your entire world's fate is dependent on our marriage and look what you have done!"
Maina looked at her dead mother and father as they lay still almost at Ay-Shinn's feet. Tears continued gushing out of her eyes and her face was still that of horror.
"Hehehehe," chuckled Ay-Shinn. "But you know, we can reverse all of this."
The princess now looked at Ay-Shinn with growing rage, tears still streaming down her face as she glared hatefully at him.
"I can clone your parents and implant their memories into them," he said gleefully as if he did nothing wrong. "But... only if you marry me."
Maina's cold stare was enough to send most people running. She gritted her fangs as she picked up and once again raised her blaster at the cold-blooded invader.
