It had been twenty-four hours since Maina's rescue and renouncement of her throne as queen of Ardonia.
Uchida High School, 7:24 A.M.
School heartthrob Meguu Terashima walked along the school grounds alone, but with the usual gawking by the boys from afar.
Her pale blonde hair blew in the summer wind as she struggled to keep it from getting in her pretty face. The boys hoped the wind would blow up her skirt as well, so they could see the "forbidden triangle".
Meguu had not seen her childhood friend Hitoshi Takao for a day. Unusual that he had to skip class. The bespectacled boy was never known to do that, even when sick. The girl remembered the time Hitoshi went to school with a cold and a fever in sixth grade, and giggled.
"Hey, Meguu-chan," came a girl's voice from behind Meguu.
She turned and saw her friend Haruna Shiratori running right at her.
"Oh, Haruna-chan," said Meguu with a sweet smile. "Good morning."
"Morning," replied the tall, dark haired girl as she bent over, panting. Sweat dripped down her cheeks.
"A-Are you alright?" asked the blonde.
"Y-Yeah, just ran a bit too fast," said Haruna, looking up at her as she panted.
"Ufufu," giggled Meguu. "Hey, Haruna-chan..."
"Hmm?" said Haruna as she stood straight while fixing her hair.
"Do you think... something might have happened to Hitoshi-kun?" said Meguu, whose face suddenly had a hint of concern.
"Huh? Why would you think that?" said Haruna, before stroking her chin with her finger. "Now that you mention it, I haven't seen him or his girlfriend around lately. Or that robot-like girl and her delinquent buddy."
"You mean Hanazawa-san and Ishikawa-kun?" said Meguu, her eyes growing wide with unease. "Yes, they've all gone missing..."
"That is actually quite unnerving," said Haruna, who also began to feel uneasy. "You don't think--"
"You there!" came another girl's voice from ahead of the two. Both girls looked at the speaker.
It was Hitoshi's girlfriend, Mai Suzuki, running at them.
"Oh, Suzuki-san...!" said Meguu, eyes widened in surprise and relief. "Y-You actually came..."
The disguised alien girl stopped right in front of the two girls, but unlike Haruna, she was not breathless due to her race's cursorial lifestyle.
"Good morning, Meguu Terashima," said Mai with an eager smile. "Good morning, Meguu Terashima's companion."
"Uh, morning," said Haruna with a sheepish smile. She was, until now, not introduced to Mai's strange speech pattern.
"Suzuki-san," said Meguu, "you've been gone for a whole day. What happened? Is Hitoshi-kun alright?"
At that Mai's cheeks slightly flushed a light pink.
"H-He is well," she said. "And that is why I have come here before you today."
"W-What is it?" asked Meguu curiously.
There was a brief, awkward silence between the two girls apart from the whistling of the summer wind.
"I..." spoke Mai. "I have stolen Hitoshi from you."
Meguu and Haruna both stared at the curious girl, dumbfounded.
"W-What... do you mean?" said Meguu, smiling awkwardly.
