Morning.
Hitoshi opened his eyes to welcome the day before him, having forgotten the events of the other night. Had it all been a dream?
But as the boy tried to rise from his bed he felt a weight on top of him. He looked down and saw a sleeping girl cuddling him, much to his surprise.
Suddenly it all came back to him. Last night he and Maina had a romantic encounter in his bathroom. Overcome by this strange new experience he had let the alien princess sleep with him on his bed.
Have I... fallen for her? he thought. This is bad... This isn't supposed to happen.
Maina, in her Ardonian form, snuggled onto Hitoshi as she slept soundly, a smile upon the beautiful face. The boy could not help but smile as well, stroking the girl's unkempt bed hair.
I guess it will be easier to disguise her if she really believed I'm her boyfriend, thought he.
Suddenly the alarm clock blared out, causing Maina to start awake, jump up in reflex and cover her huge pointed ears.
"Gaahh!" groaned the Ardonian girl. "Cease your abhorrent noise, you infernal machine!"
Hitoshi just smiled wryly as he proceeded to sit up and turn the alarm off.
"It's okay, Mai-san," he said.
Maina took a moment to pant heavily after the ordeal. Her highly sensitive ears were still ringing from the noise.
"Can you devise another method of waking us in the morning?" she said.
"I wish there was another way," replied Hitoshi.
Maina looked away grumpily.
"So... what transpired last night," said she, her face turning red, "do we mention that to our friends?"
"W-Well we don't have to," said a blushing Hitoshi, sweat rolling down his face. "I-I have to know though..."
Maina looked at him with a curious expression, her face still flushed.
"A-Are you in love with me...?" came Hitoshi's question.
The alien princess' face turned even redder as her eyes widened.
"D-D-Do not presume anything human," said Maina, smiling awkwardly. "W-What happened last night was simply an expression of my friendship with you... since I am your girl-friend after all."
"O-Oh," said Hitoshi, averting his gaze.
She still doesn't understand the concept of being a girlfriend, Hitoshi thought. I guess this is for the best.
"W-Well we better get ready for school," said he, sweat dripping down his cheek.
"That is true," said Maina. With that she put on her lifeform adaptor, twisted the knob on top and pressed it, changing into her human form.
Moments later the two were downstairs having their breakfast in their school uniforms. Mai was eating heartily as usual. Hitoshi would watch her eat and chuckle.
After that Mai and Hitoshi headed out for school, carrying their bags. The boy took his bicycle out and got on with Mai sitting behind him before riding out.
Neither of them were aware that they were being watched all the way.
Through a pair of binoculars peered Agent Stacey. She and Rockwell had been stationed on the rooftop of a building overlooking the little neighborhood.
"What are you looking at, Stacey?" asked Rockwell, who stood right beside her.
"I may have found what we're looking for," replied Stacey intently, as her binoculars followed the bicycle carrying the two teenagers.
