Thanks white_wolf0523 for the awesome cover!

Training was over and I had sent the boys on a run of the perimeter, while Erik, the betas and I headed back to the pack house. To be fair, I was exhausted and I'm sure they were too. We practically crawled back to the house.

The mud that covered us earlier, we had partially sweat off to where we were left with a grimy layer of dirt and sweat all over our bodies. As soon as our group entered to air conditioned house there was a collective sigh. I turned back to look and was a bit surprised to see Josh and Olly. I had almost forgotten that they were here.

"When are you guys going home?" I asked them, the tiredness showing through my voice. The rest of the group turned to look at us.

"You guys are welcome to stay for dinner," Erik interjected. The mention of food was all it took for them to agree to stay.

"None of you are sitting down at my table smelling like that," Sarah scolded, strutting around the corner. She stopped and put her hands on her hips. "Josh, Olly," she smiled. "So good to see you two!" she exclaimed, clapping her hands. "Erik, get them some clothes and direct them to a shower upstairs. Blake and Logan can run home and wash up."

I was already halfway up the stairs by the time she finished her sentence. I wanted to be clean. I hated feeling this dirty. I heard the door open and close followed by footsteps and another chorus of steps following me up the stairs.

They stopped on the second landing while I continued up to my room on the third floor. Erik mumbled a few directions and then followed me up the stairs. After the last step, he grabbed my arm before I could step into my room.

"Are you okay?" he asked. His eyes were searching mine as we stood in the hallway. They drifted down to my busted lip.

"Are you talking about from fighting? Or being tired?" I questioned skeptically. I just wanted to shower, honestly.

"Both, I guess," he answered. I shook my head and smiled.

"Today was great. I'm not hurt, just tired. But right now, I just want to shower," he laughed at my remark but left the subject alone.

"Okay, see you in a few," he sighed and continued up the stairs to his room. He turned back to look over his shoulder at me. "But you did amazing today, Kass." I smiled and opened my door.

I ran into my room aching for the hot water and soap. Within mere seconds, I was undressed and under a stream of water. I looked down to see the grime had turned the water I had rinsed off a dingy brown and my skin was becoming cleaner with every drop.

I was quick to wash and shampoo my hair, even though I wanted to stay under that heavenly waterfall. Reluctantly, I hopped out of the shower and dried off. I found some casual clothes in my bag and threw them on, along with a quick side braid. It had been about fifteen minutes and I knew the boys were probably close to done with their showers.

I guessed wrong. I waltzed into the kitchen first, followed by Josh and Olly. Blake and Logan followed. They all smelt like men's body wash and wore clean clothes. It was kind of refreshing after seeing them dirty and all sweaty the entire day. I couldn't help but notice that Josh seemed a bit on edge. I couldn't quite figure out why.

I lost focus on Josh as soon as Erik stepped into the kitchen. He smelt like... I can't even describe it. His hair was still wet from the shower and the tips of his shaggy locks looked golden in the light. I had to turn away and continue busying myself at the counter, chopping up some herbs.

"Mom, the food smells amazing," Erik commented. He walked over to the counter and hugged his mother who smiled, but continued stirring the pot of who-knows what. I turned around from my chopping, strode over to Sarah to hand her the seasonings.
