I laid in bed for hours but sleep had yet to meet my grasps. I couldn't help but think about Erik and the hurt I could cause his pack. I mean, I could run. Despite my dwellings, I knew that I couldn't escape my problems that easily. I had tried that and failed.

Almost involuntarily, I felt myself get out of bed. I knew where my feet were carrying me, yet I made no effort to stop myself. I climbed another flight of stairs before sniffing the air, searching for my mate's scent. I eventually found a door where the scent was intoxicating.

Before I gathered my courage and went to open the door, a sound touched my ears. It was one that I knew better than my own voice and it was pouring down the stairs from the loft. I had almost forgotten about the area. Erik and I had played hide and seek up there when we were kids.

Before continuing up the stairs, I took a quick glance down at myself. The darkness made my skin appear ghostly and I suddenly realized that I was only wearing my sleep shirt. I didn't really care though, or rather, my wolf didn't and she propelled me up the stairs.

The stairs ascended directly into the open room where a grand piano was on display. The rest of the room was decorated with other musical décor and other instruments. I was almost in heaven. My eyes returned to the piano and its player.

Erik was seated on the bench and his perfectly rough, long fingers glided over the ivory keys with precise ease. I recognized the piece as Chopin with a few added in parts that I suspect he added in for his own amusement. I stood on the top step staring at his back and the way his arms moved with the music. After what seemed like hours but what was only minute, he stopped playing.

"I didn't know you played," I blurted out. I instantly regretted outburst. He whipped around on the bench.

"Kass, it's late," he answered. "But yes, I play. It's not something most people know about me." My feet unconsciously carried me to the bench where he had made room for me. "Why are you still awake?"

"I couldn't sleep," I told him honestly, looking up into his face.

"Poor baby," he mocked, placing a hand on my cheek. I gave him a sleepy smile and leaned into his chest. His arms instantly wrapped around as he pulled me closer. "You know, I don't like fighting with you," he whispered into my hair.

"I know. And nor I with you," I replied easily, climbing into his lap so I could see his face. He smiled at my movement but once again pulled me close to him. We stayed silent for a few moments before he spoke again.

"Do you like being here?" He asked cautiously. I nodded easily before biting my lip. "Kass, don't do that," he warned huskily, tightening his grip on waist. I smiled but stopped what I was doing.

"Why do you keep asking me that?" I question him. He lets out a breath before answering.

"Because I'm scared that I'll lose you."

I sucked in a short breathe. I wasn't really prepared for that. His sincerity almost shocked me, but at the same time I felt the same way.

"You're not going to lose me," I whispered, my voice not seeming to want to work. "We will figure out the packs, but until then, I'm yours." At my words, a smile lit up his face.

"Can you say that again?" He joked, yet pulled me closer to him. I laughed but leaned closer to his ear.

"I am all yours," I assured him. I could feel his muscles relax beneath me as my words sunk in.

"What about when you go back to Timber?" His raised eyebrows conveyed all his worry to me.

"That's a week away!" I exclaim, lightly hitting his arm. "Let's worry about it then. For now, can we just live in the moment?" His eyes lit up. Before he could stop me, I moved myself again, but this time, I was straddling his lap.
