It was 9:47 pm, my screen turned on, flashing with multiple messages, that I had not been aware that it had been sending.
It was Nathaniel again.
NATHANIEL: "I'm bored though."
NATHANIEL: "Ok then."
NATHANIEL: "actually not Ok, everyone's gone to the party and I'm sitting here bored."
NATHANIEL: "where have you gone?"
NATHANIEL: "Be cold and leave me out here then."
The last message he sent me was seven minutes ago. I walk into my mom and dad's which had the lights turn on off, and peek through their window to see if he was still there. He was.
ME: "Why don't you go to the party then?"
I only had to wait a few seconds to see the message had turned to 'R'
NATHANIEL: "why didn't you reply?"
ME: "Sorry, I put my phone on silent."
NATHANIEL: "Come on asss, I'm bored."
I put on my hijab real quick, and I walk down stairs as I reply back.
ME: "Wasting my time Nate."
I open the door, taking my phone and letting my hand hang loose on my sides, I walk over to Nathaniel's side walk.
He lifts his head up as when he hears my footsteps coming closer, from an almost no expression, he's face lights up with a warming smile.
"You came." He grins. "After so long." His face turns straight again.
I laugh, whilst I sit on the side walk with him.
"Where are your parents?" I ask whilst looking inside his house, the door was open, but the lights were turned off.
"They're at work, and my little sisters at her friend house today, so I'm alone." He sighs, smiling.
I see his sister a lot, she's sweet, and she would smile every time she would see me. It wasn't hard to tell she was his sister, they both have the same jaw line, smile and same streaking eye lashes, with that boring brown eye colour. Also she would go in his house - which could only mean she lived there.
I still had my face buried slightly in my hand.
"Why are you hiding your face?" Nathaniel asks whilst laughing, he takes his hands and softly moves my hand off my face, barely even touching my skin.
I laugh, and shy away. "I'm not wearing any make-up". I groan. I usually wear mascara and a light layer of lipstick, caking my face isn't my thing, I end up getting it all over myself, because I'm clumsy. But that touch of make-up made me feel better.
"Your beauty's deeper than make-up." He says quietly, with a side smile.
I look at him smiling a little, then look down, because I know for sure I would get red and he would start to assume things.
"Oh yeah, I wanted to thank you." Nathaniel smiles softly. I look at him confused. "For the tutoring, Miss Holland emailed my mom, saying how I got 83% on the pop quiz in maths I done, she was so proud of me she had to email my mom, and guess what?" He says giddily.
A bright smile pops up on my face, he's reaction was adorable. "What?" I laugh.
"My mom hugged me and she's proud of me." He says quietly with a warm smile spread across his face.
