"I knew you'd be here."

I take my earphones off, although I wasn't listening to music or anything, I just had them in so no one would bother me. Obviously this someone didn't understand that. And this someone was Nathaniel. I don't bother turning my head around to see him, so he comes in front of me.

Of course I'd come to the skate park, I wouldn't exactly go to 'our' spot would I? I thought that would be the first place he'd go. Obviously he knew me too well. Dammit I hated him.

It had been two hours since I walked out of class, which meant I missed two periods and some of lunch, that was plenty of time for me to calm down. I was no longer angry, but a little hurt.

"I called after you, you didn't even turn around." Nathaniel says in a soft voice. He did? I didn't hear him; I was too angry.

When he sees that I don't reply, he takes a seat near me on the steps. I realised how dirty it was, Nathaniel didn't seem to care, he just placed his bum on it. Whereas me on the other hand, I stood for half an hour, before I let myself sit on it.

"Look at me." Nathaniel says, popping his head closer to me. I turn my head away. But then he brings his head closer, so I look at him with a blank expression.

If I wasn't so angry with him, I'd appreciate how good he looked when he was trying to explain himself, it was that stupid confused look.

"Yeah she's pretty..." Nathaniel says quietly. I instantly roll my eyes, not intentionally. But why did he have to bring that up again?

"Nathan I'm sorry, don't worry about it. I was being stupid." I say quietly interrupting whatever he was about to say, and trying not to sound bitter.

"BUT. You are absolutely breath taking, you are mesmerising, you are so beautiful. She has nothing on you. She is a zero and you are an infinite." Nathaniel says sincerely, with his smile growing into a grin.

And I think I stop breathing. The hurt and anger in my heart clears, and my whole body starts to feel weak. Too weak for me to even put a small smile together, too weak for my heart to even beat.

My lips start tugging, and pulling into a smile shape but I keep pulling it back to a straight face. But the more I think about what he said, the more my smile starts to grow.

"You don't have to say that." I say rolling my eyes, but I was smiling.

His grin had now turned into a sheepish smile. "Yeah... I know. I wanted to. I like watching your reaction." Nathaniel says, letting out a soft laugh.

My smile turns into a grin instantly, "Shut up!" I say grinning and giggling.

"So, how about you come back for last period? We have Maths, your favourite subject." Nathaniel says smiling giddily.

I almost choke, "That is not my favourite subject." I say looking at him with a surprised expression, while getting up and dusting my bum.

He starts laughing, and does the same before walking with me, back to school.

It had been ten minutes into class, and  I couldn't get my eyes off the new girl. Neither could Cassie, she'd always have her eyes on the new girl, a few of the guys were looking as well. But not Nathaniel, I almost felt bad that we were all appreciating this rare beauty, and he wasn't because of me.

But I didn't really care.

"Everyone stop writing please, and get in to your groups." Miss Holland says, while yawning.
