I couldn't move a muscle as I stared into the eyes of this beast. Frightened and confused, I panted rapidly. The creature slowly strolled towards me, growling with a sound that seemed to be distorted and glitched out. Could this be some kind of robot? A machine? No, that doesn't make sense, how can a robot have such a spiritual and menacing presence? My thoughts told me that this beast was alive, it was definitely alive.
The creature looked down at me as it came close, it simply observed me, but that isn't the reason why I was terrified. It's the fact that it grinned at me, this creature wanted to kill me and it wanted to enjoy itself while it ripped me into pieces.
I spoke out of fear, hoping that I would somehow wake up from this nightmare.
"This has to be a dream, there is no way something like this could be real."
The creature then shrieked at me, an inhuman and distorted shriek. It raised its sharp claws to go for a swing at me. I panted even more, the same words repeating in my head.
This can't be real...
This can't be real...
This can't be real...
This can't be real!
As the creature swung its claws at me, I forced my muscles to move and dodge the attack. The creature's claws cut through the tree that was once behind me, making it fall onto the ground with a loud thump. For a few seconds, I lost my balance as I dodged, but then started to make a run for it. All I could do was run and run, until I knew I was far away from that beast.
I heard its roar echoing throughout the forest, adrenaline rushed through my body as I dodged trees and vaulted over rocks or tree roots.
I heard the shifting of the grass and thumps of the beast chasing after me. I took a look behind me to see the creature catching up.
Fight back...
I heard a faint voice as I sprinted, almost out of breath. I looked around me to see where the voice came from before realizing that the beast caught up to me, I turned my head to my right and saw it swing its right arm at me. Before I could even react, the paw of the beast slammed on to the right side of my torso. I felt immense signals of pain throughout the right side of my body. I flew sideways, rolling on the dirty ground before having my back slammed against a large rock.
The impact on my back was unbearable, all the air from my lungs escaped as I groaned in pain. I didn't understand how my bones were still intact, that hit could've killed a normal human being, yet I was still alive. I panted heavily, trying to gather my thoughts and figure out the situation. I looked up at the beast which was a few meters away from me, it had me locked in a corner. Gritting my teeth, I tried to motivate myself to keep on running.
"Get...up. You idiot..."
I murmured to myself as I took a stand. Thoughts ran through my mind. How will I run? I'm cornered. No way to defend myself. How will I survive?
The beast began to gather of black smoke around it. Some kind of black ball was being created as the smoke gathers upon its forehead. There was a long buzzing sound as the ball was being formed, making me feel panicked.
I mumbled out, "it's just like in the books and movies, the beast is about to charge an attack, isn't it?"
"What do I do..." I mumbled to myself...
