The Distant Storm Arc: Vociferation
I stared straight at the beast, not letting him out of my sight. I shouted out for Shiro as I watched, "Shiro! Please hurry up, I don't know how long I can last!"
"Give me some time, I'm working on it." She replied,
I then groaned in annoyance as I spoke, "Okay..."
This building was unfinished and still being constructed, the gaped hole upon the roof was not rebuilding itself, it reminded me of when Zack told me that the time it takes for objects and structures to rebuild themselves varies depending on whether the Colorless or CoDa want the object destroyed or not and how far they are from the structure or object, all the more reason that this realm was made to be a sandbox for CoDas and Colorless alike.
I looked down at my gun, planning my next move. I'm able to tell how much Xorlaz energy I have in me because of my Knowing ability and judging from the amount reserved inside me, I can only use my Electrokinesis for about 5 minutes while my Jailstorm ability allows me to use it for about 20 minutes. However, my Chain Summon ability, the ability to summon nearly any object from my imagination, depends solely on what I want to summon. The heavier and larger the object is, the more Xorlaz it'll need. I still had some bullets left from my 55 Mag and I had to make use of every bullet.
My thoughts then transitioned towards the BruteWolf as I remembered another quote from Zack, Predict what your opponent is thinking and counter it, never give them the upper hand. To be honest, I thought that was common knowledge and unnecessary for Zack to tell me that but in this battle, I came to be thankful for all the things Zack taught me; because sometimes when you're in a fight, your mind does not think properly and you're too busy trying to survive the ordeal, Zack's words had a way of sticking in my head that even after a couple of months, I can still remember them.
This BruteWolf seems to be a reckless type of Colorless, yet it also has a very good reaction towards all of my attacks, it seems to know what it's doing. I thought to myself. There is no difficulty in trying to taunt it, it already wants to come after me so all I need to do know how to counter it's attacks. I glanced around the building trying to process what the battleground is like. This building challenges close-quarter combat, damn, I'm at a disadvantage. This BruteWolf is weak at long range but this area gives it an upper hand, I need to get outside.
I concluded my thought process as I taunted the BruteWolf with a gesture to come at me. The BruteWolf didn't hesitate, once more in all fours, it dashed towards me as I held my gun with both of my hands. The BruteWolf began to zig-zag as it charged towards me, leaving me no chance to get a proper shot. I was held back against a wall but to my right, I could see an open window to the outside. Before the BruteWolf could ram at me, I jumped right and rolled as the BruteWolf smashed towards the wall. I felt a stinging pain on my arm as I noticed a claw would which soon vanished, the BruteWolf still tried to reach out to me even after it rammed itself. The dust began to gather again as I ran towards the window. I could hear its distorted screech as I looked back to see the creature shook it's head in confusion then charge at me once more in all fours. I was still distant but I could feel the BruteWolf catching up to me.
I turned my feet and jumped back, facing the BruteWolf with my gun aimed at it. Using the recoil from the gun, I pulled the trigger several times, each time the reactive force thrusting me even more back and aiding me in getting outside. The bullets hit the target but I doubt that it would be enough to kill it, nevertheless, I was outside and was about to fall down. But before I could even breathe in relief, I felt a tug on my leg as I looked down to see a long thick tail wrapped around it.
"Oh, for crying out loud!" I gritted my teeth in annoyance as I realized it belonged to the BruteWolf but before I could do anything the BruteWolf pulled me back into the building, throwing me towards the other side where there was a wall.
