Emily replied to my resolution with a surprised yet relieved expression, "You still have about 18 days, 24 hours and 1 minute to decide, you know...?"

I shut my eyes, breathed slowly in then exhaled, Opening up my eyes again, I reaffirmed, "Yes, I wish to fight as a CoDa."

"Dude! Are you seriously gonna leave behind your human life just to go to war against a whole army of man-eating beast?" The person next to me grabbed my shoulder to bring my attention to him, he seemed to be a down-to-earth person by the way he speaks and looks, could deny him of his reasoning though, he had good points. "Listen, I can understand that having cool powers and fighting for humanity may be thrilling but think about your family and friends back in the real world! What if you never see them again?"

Emily replied to him, "Rest assured, You can still see your family and friends even after being one of us, many of our species still keep in touch with the people close to us however they will know us by a different identity."

Everyone turned their attention back to Emily.

"Think of it as an illusionary mask, you may know them but they won't know who you truly are, that's the gist of it but its a little more complex than that. Again, even if you choose to become a CoDa, you still have about half a month to change your mind. We only want to know who are primarily interested in becoming a part of our kind."

The person turned back to me as he was about to say some more advice for me to not go but immediately stopped the moment he looked towards me, an expression of awe and fear in his eyes as he looked at me.

He began to step back a little bit, loosening his grip on my shoulder and mumbled out "What the hell is up with those eyes...?"

At first, I a little confused but as I looked over to my Holo-watch, and realized what time it is...

00:00 AM

" It's that time again..."I murmur.

I looked at him again and spoke, "Well, you see, I have something strange going on with my eyes. When the time hits midnight, my right eye changes colors before having a random base color for the day. One day my eyes could be blue, another day they could be green." Pointing at my right eye, I continued to speak. "At first, the doctors thought this was a symptom of the Cybic disease which I'm sure you have at least heard of. The newest disease which has been on the rise and immune to the latest medical technology, the disease also has unpredictable symptoms and side-effects to the patient."

I placed my hand in pocket as I continued,

"However, it turned out to be something more unexplained than the disease itself. The doctors would have done experiments on me to test the traits of the eye but to be honest, me and my uncle don't want to get my eye pulled out so I declined. In short, this eye and this whole turn of events are a sign for me to take this opportunity to learn about the world I didn't know existed."

The person stood there, surprised like almost any person would be when they would witness this, "But-"

"Okay, Nathan." Emily interrupted, "Head for the door at the back of this stage. For the rest of you, like I said, choose wisely and with a satisfaction on your face."

Giving out a long exhale, I walked towards the back of the stage, seeing an open door leading to a white corridor. I couldn't believe it is the middle of the night, if this was some normal day, I would be having a sleepover at Zack's place due to classes on Fridays starting late for my school.

I could imagine how in the 2000's children and teenagers didn't have opportunities like I do now. I guess education nowadays must have gotten a lot easier since students almost didn't even need to do homework or study.

It isn't like I know what it was like to live in the 2000's but I could at least imagine what could be like. Geez, I really do like the era of 2000's, don't I? Well, what can I say, it's the beginning of a new and more advanced era for humanity.

Walking past the white corridor, I enter a corner, a male with military-like clothing stood at the end of the hallway, he seems to be around 20 years old.

"Hello there, I'm Jelfor. Nice to have another CoDa join us. Now if you follow the queue behind me, You will get your Guardian."

"Guardian? for what?" I ask as he steps to the side.

"You're a newly born CoDa, kid. Guardians are there to guide CoDas like you into becoming a proper CoDas. They are your personal teachers."

I shrugged, "Makes sense."

I stood in the queue, waiting, the CoDas were being sent off by multiple Guardians as they began to walk together towards different parts of the base. I wondered what kind of Guardian I would get. Hopefully someone who is not irritating or bossy.

As a few minutes had passed, I finally got to be in front of the manager, who is a female, that dealt all the CoDas into going with specific guardians.

"Hello there, Hun, can you please state your name and then show me your Xorlaz symbol?" She asked.

"Hun?" I repeated questionably. "Okay-um-yeah, My name is Nath-"

"Nathan Tetrola Jailstorm." As I stated my name, I got interrupted by someone else but it was odd. This voice, it sounded familiar yet different. "I don't think this is a coincidence. This might be destiny, am I right, Brother?

Panning my head to my right, I could not believe who I saw. He looked so different, much more different.

"Well well well, Zack IllusionFrost." The manager spoke, "Are you this rookie's guardian?"

He gave off that arrogant charming smile as always as he looked at me, "Of course I am, This rookie, Nathan, is my friend, after all."
