Kaneki x Reader (Tokyo Ghoul)

Before the fan fiction starts, just a quick note: This is from when Kaneki was a member of Aogiri Tree. So... basically Kaneki with white hair. One more thing - I'm following the anime, not the manga, so this takes place during Root A. If you want me to write an Anteiku Kaneki x Reader, let me know in the comments!

"If you're going to beat me up like everyone else, just do it already," you muttered to the white-haired male standing in front of you. "And if you're not, just leave me alone. I'm tired and just want to rest."

You were curled up at the end of an alleyway at what you guessed was around midnight in the 11th ward. You were a ghoul that had been living there peacefully until some organization had taken it over by force. Now, since you weren't a member, you were beaten up by various members daily. You hadn't seen this white-haired guy before, but the look of slight contempt on his face showed that he was part of the group.

"Why would I beat you?" he asked, staring at you.

"Everyone else in your organization has been doing that," you replied bluntly. "Why shouldn't you?"

"I'm different," he responded. He held out his hand to you, as if to help you up. Eyeing him warily, you took it and pushed yourself to your feet.

"You should join me," the young man said. "They won't beat you if you're in my group."

You rolled your eyes.

"Please remind me why I should join the group that destroyed my quiet and peaceful life before subjecting me to violence."

"Because if you don't," he said calmly, "I'll just kill you."

You blinked in surprise.

"Well... that's not the response I was expecting," you admitted.

The man just stared at you until you finally sighed.

"Fine. Whatever. I'll join your dumb organization. At least it's better than starving out in the cold."

"Welcome to Aogiri Tree," the man said. He held out his hand to shake yours as he said, "I'm Kaneki."

You reluctantly shook Kaneki's  hand, responding, "My name's (y/n)."

"I'm going to take you to where our headquarters are for now," Kaneki said, walking forward. "Come with me."

Dubiously, you followed him as he turned out of the alley and started walking along the sidewalk. It was almost eerily silent, with no one around. The only source of light, save for the moon, was the occasional streetlamp.

 The first few minutes of walking were silent. Eventually, you broke the ice by asking, "Why do you want me in this 'Aogiri Tree' group so bad? You even threatened to kill me."

Kaneki hesitated for some reason before saying, "Strength in numbers." Still refusing to turn around, he added, "If you're not part of Aogiri Tree, then we don't need you wasting space in our ward."

Neither one of you said anything for the rest of the walk until Kaneki opened up the door of an abandoned warehouse. 

"This is where we're staying for now," Kaneki said quietly. 

"Hey, Kaneki," a teenager with dark blue hair smirked, approaching the two of you. "Who's this?"

You stared at the teen before saying, "I'm (y/n). Kaneki recruited me into Aogiri Tree."

"I'm Ayato, your superior," the blue haired teen said in a slightly arrogant tone. "And my first order for you is to start up the warehouse while Kaneki and I go take out a few investigators."
