"Are you going to America's party later?" you asked China as the two of you sat together.

"I just went to his party a few days ago," China grumbled. "Why is he holding another one already?"

You held back a laugh as you responded, "Well, that party was for Christmas. This party is for New Year's Eve. You should come - it'll be really fun!"

"It's American New Year already?" China asked, slightly surprised. Sighing, he shrugged and added, "Well, sure. But only because you're going. Otherwise, America's stupid."

"Yay!" you cheered, giving him a huge hug, blushing a little bit.

You had a small crush on China, and loved being around him. You were more than excited that he agreed to go with you.

"Should I bring some food to take over?" China wondered, gently pushing you off.

"I think you should!" you encouraged. "America loves food. I think he'd love it if you made something and took it over. It'd have to be something that you can make quickly, though - the party's starting in an hour and a half."

"If I've got to make it quickly, will you help me cook?" China asked, standing up.

"S-sure!" you said, grinning.

As long as I get to spend time with you, then I'll do it!

"Chow mein doesn't take too long. I could make a lot and then bring it over. If you get started on the vegetables and the noodles, then we could do this really quickly!"

You nodded excitedly as China went over to the sink and washed his hands. You followed after him, doing the same, as he opened up his refrigerator and took out the ingredients for the dish. After the chicken and the vegetables had been taken out, he opened up a cabinet over the counter and took out a package of noodles.

"Can you boil these?" China asked, setting them down and pulling out a large pot from the nearby cupboard.

"Sure thing!" you replied, taking the pot. You placed it under the faucet and filled it with water before placing it on the stove.

"Whoa, that's a lot of water," China laughed nervously, peering over your shoulder.

"What?" you asked defensively. "Aren't you supposed to fill it to the top with water?"

"You've never cooked before, have you?"

"Um..."

"Well?"

"...No."

China snickered a little bit, and you playfully stuck out your tongue.

"Hey, I've just don't like cooking!" you said. "I usually just have my friend cook all the meals in our house."

China sighed and smiled a little bit.

"Here, I'll take care of the noodles. You just chop the vegetables, okay?"

You nodded, grabbing a stalk of celery. You rinsed it using the sink before placing it on a cutting board.

Grabbing the biggest knife you saw, you raised it over your head dramatically before smashing it down on the celery, cutting it in half. You giggled a little bit, but China was not amused.

"What the heck are you doing?!" he demanded, taking the cutting knife from your hand. He tried to glare at you, but his lips twitched and he started laughing.

"Here," he said when he calmed down. He gently placed the knife back into your palm and put his hand over yours. "Chop it like this."

He guided your hand, slowly and evenly chopping the celery. However, you couldn't concentrate with the electric feeling of his hand over yours.
