"Captain, wait!" I interrupted.

"Yes, 27?"

"There has to be some other way, sir! I mean, we can't just kill him. He's done nothing wrong!"

The Captain just sighed. "I know it must be hard for you, having to kill your friend. I'm sorry, but you guys are the best for the job. The job that must be done. No-"

"C'mon sir!" Lancey joined in. "I'm with Ambrew on this one. I can't bring myself to kill my friend!"

"Ian has a dangerously corrupted Angel tha-"

"Two of them!" Crainer burst. "Don't Angels possess those that need help most? Ian is our friend, and he's completely innocent! I refuse to-"

"Enough!" Arcaviouse snapped. "Fine, fine. If you guys won't kill him, then we'll just have to do it the hard way. 36!"

"Yes sir?" Spoke Finn, the blonde boy in the back. He looks so young and frail, but yet he's somehow ranked in the top five of the 48. I've never quite understood him, but then, no one does. Who knows where he came from, or why he was recruited. He is a new recruit, filling in for a soldier who'd disappeared a while back. I think that guy's name was some sort of sandwich or something like that. I don't know.

"Tell the containment unit to prepare a new cell. One fit to hold the strength of an atomic bomb."

I didn't know corrupted angels were that strong!

"Yes sir." Finn left right away. The rest of us were overjoyed.

"Thank you, Captain!" Lancey screamed while jumping up and down. "Thank you sooooo much!"

"Good to see that you're satisfied. Now, the mission." The Captain continued with the meeting, sharing details only we should know, and things that only we can do. Finn returned a couples minutes in, but nothing was repeated for him. Finally, after what seemed like hours, the meeting ended.

"Though it is not recommended, you all have the option to kill. If any thing happens, remember that you are given your weapons for a reason. None of you will be charged unjustly of manslaughter. Dismissed." My head was full of information, and things I'd never known before. Most of it was either useless, or a repeat. Some of it was important, though. Some of it I couldn't live without. I stood up and walked out with my friends, but Finn was held back to be filled in on any information he'd missed, I think.

"What a mission this one will be!" Lancey sang, seemingly filled with energy from the excitement. Crainer and I weren't so keen.

"What if one of us get hurt?" He whispered into my ear. "After all, they are powerful. What if they're even stronger than us?"

"Don't worry, Crainer." I placed my hand on his shoulder. "We're all gonna be okay. I promise."

Crainer sniffled and looked up at me. "Thanks, Ambrew."

"Any time." I said with a comforting smile. It was fake. I was just as worried as him, but he didn't need to know that. Suddenly, the Commander's voice rang through the air.

"Would soldiers number 9, 16, 24, 27, and 36 please all report for dispatchment ASAP, I repeat, soldiers number 9, 16, 24, 27, and 36 report for dispatchment ASAP. Thank you."

"Time to goooo!" Sang Lancey as he pulled us along towards the nearest elevator.

"Where are you taking us?" Crainer yelled, surprised by our friends obvious over-excitement.

"To the roof, silly!" He giggled.

"W-why?" I asked, in desperate need of an explanation.

"Isn't it obvious?"

"..." We both kept silent, not knowing what he meant.

"Where else would they keep a helicopter?" The crazed man laughed.

The elevator doors opened, letting in a cold breeze. I rubbed my left wrist, where Lancey's grip had held strong. Crainer was doing that same, where as Lancey was running towards the machine he'd been dreaming to ride for a long time. Slowly but surely, everyone made their way on board. As we took off, Lancey's face was glued to the window, where as I was avoiding the outside view at all costs.

"What's wrong 'Brew?" Crainer asked, causing me to jump. "Don't like the view?"

"I-it's not that, it's just... " I stuttered out, nervously.

"You're scared of heights, aren't you?!" He laughed.

"Shut up! So? What about it?" I snapped.

"Oh, no way! I only meant it as a joke, but you're serious!" He laughed even more. Why did I have to snap? "Oh ma gawd. The famously fearless and clever Ambrew, scared of a little helicopter ride! I can't believe it!" Crainer was rolling on the floor now.

"I thought I told you to shut up!" I mumbled, embarrassed. "It's not that big a deal!"

He didn't shut up.

That is, until Ava spoke up. "We're here."

"Aren't we gonna land?" I asked hopefully.

"Does it look like it?" She sassed, throwing us each a parachute. "Grab your gear, then lets go."

"Yes, m'am."

I grabbed my pistols, a knife to hide in a secret pocket, and other supplies that we may need. Finn didn't grab that much, but what he did choose were affective. Ava snatched up a dozen or so packets of her favourite throwing knives, as well as other weapons, and a bar of chocolate which just happened to be there for some odd reason. Crainer then chose some guns, followed by Lancey who cleared out the shop.

"Let's do this!" Lancey screamed, leaping from the machine immediately after securing his 'chute. He was followed by Finn, then Ava, then it was my turn. Instead of jumping, I just decided to watch Ava's single long, dark, braid flutter in the wind behind her.

"C'mon dude. Just jump!" Crainer said. "I'm not jumping until after you do! If I go, you might not jump at all!" He laughed.

"Naw, I'm good." I responded, scared stiff.

Suddenly his cheerful face disappeared. "Your parachute is secured, right?"

"Yah, I g-."

"Good." He said as his hand hit my back, causing me to fall out of the helicopter.

"CRAINER YOU LITTLE S-" I was cut off by him appearing right next to me and covering my mouth.

"Pushing you caused me to fall too!" He laughed, all too cheery for me.

The ground was closing in fast.

"Okay, brace for impact! In 3! 2! 1!"
