Chapter 2 On the Road

The bus began to speed up as we got on the highway heading towards the mountains. "It's all just a little too weird how I ended up seeing Travis and Collin", Layla thought. Layla was sitting near a window, while the other seat was taken by her book bag. Suddenly some fat girl comes over and lifts her bag out of her seat and throws it on Layla. Layla couldn't believe what was happening, and the girl acted as if she hadn't done anything wrong. The girl began to talk to Travis who was sitting on the other side with Collin. The rude fat girl says, "Excuse me I don't mean to be rude, but I would like to know if I could have a conversation with you about us". Layla couldn't believe that this fat chick had the balls to even try to get at Travis, well it wasn't like she liked Travis but damn, the least she could've done was say may I please sit here to have conversation with this nigga.

Travis said to her mockingly, "Uh I don't think so, for one you just threw my friend's bag just to try and approach me making yourself look pretty rude. " And trust me if there is one thing my nigga Travey don't like it's a rude ass bitch", Collin said. The fat chick then looks at Layla assuming that she wasn't really affected by how she threw her bag at her. "Look she not even mad and ya'll rude for not letting me introduce myself see my name is"... Travis said annoyed, "Your name really doesn't matter until you apologize to our friend for throwing her shit". As Collin begins to laugh the fat girl turns to Layla and says, "Girl I'm so sorry for throwing your stuff, I was just trying to get the attention from this nigga, but now I couldn't really give to fucks about him". And after she said that she made her way back to her seat. But before she left she made it known that her name was Quetta and that niggas wanted her from all over the world. Collin said laughing, "Shit, that bitch rude as fuck though". Travis said pissed, "She wasn't gone get no muthafucking attention from me cause that shit ain't cute". In the inside Layla was actually happy that they defended her, and it kind of made her change her mind about them going to fat camp. Collin got up to sit next to Layla trying to touch her face jokingly saying," Yeah she better not hurt my bae feelings either cause... Layla slapped his hand saying, "Don't fucking touch me I don't know where your hands been". Collin said to Travis, "You see how she wants to treat a nigga all bad after I told old gurl off." Travis said, "Last time I recall it was me doing the talking while you were boosting up shit".

Collin returned back to his seat because they were about to take a rest stop so everyone could use the restrooms and get a little snack. Suddenly Layla realized that her wallet was missing. "DAMN"! Layla said aloud, "I think I left my wallet at home, I knew something was missing". Collin said, "Maybe you dropped it around you, check and see". Layla looked around, and she still couldn't find it. Everyone was leaving off the bus. Travis said to Layla, " You know if you want something like a snack I can ... Layla cut him off saying, "No just go ahead I 'll be alright". Layla stayed on the bus, and as Travis and Collin got off the bus they saw big ass Quetta with a whole bunch of snacks realizing that her fat ass had Layla money and was enjoying every minute of it. Collin approached her saying, "Aye were you get the money to buy all them damn snacks"? Quetta said annoyed, "whatever nigga I got cash so don't play... Travis cut her off saying, "Oh yeah, then put your money where your mouth is and show us how much you got". Quetta being the fat dumb ass she is pulls out Layla's wallet, and Collin snatched it from her. "Man oh man you really are good, but not that fucking great". Quetta said angrily, "Give me back my shit". Travis took the wallet from Collin and pulled out Layla's driving licenses. Travis said mockingly, "Look at you, if you gone steal at least hide the fucking evidence dumb ass". "Shut the fuck up", Quetta said walking towards the bus angrily. After everyone got what they needed everyone was back on the bus getting ready to get back on the road. Travis handed Layla her wallet and said, "Yeah your wallet was at the front of the bus, so you might've dropped it when you was getting on". Layla was so happy, not because of the money, but because her credit card and license was still in place. Layla said happily, "Thank you so much, like ya'll just don't know how scared I actually was". Collin said jokingly, "You are so welcome". Travis then handed her a sprite and some m&m with the peanuts saying, "You can thank me next time when you buy me a snack". Layla just smile and said her thank you and put her headphones on as she ate her snack unknowing what really happened with her money.

The ride to E.F.H was a very long one, and most people had a lot of electronics. Layla phone was beginning to die and she thought that she could at least listen to one more song, but it eventually died. Layla began to think, "What am I going to do now it's going to be impossible to get through this trip having to hear Collin talk all through this ride". But when Layla looked to her left she was surprise to see that Collin was asleep. Travis had is headphones on playing an app on his phone. Layla could almost jump for joy, but something deep down in her wanted to talk to Travis. As she was looking at Travis he looked up and Layla tried to turn away, but she made it a little to obvious by trying to play on the dark screen of her phone. Travis said jokingly, "Thank you for letting me have my face back Layla". Layla tried to act as if she couldn't hear him, so he got up and made his way to her seat. Layla said bothered, "Hey what are you doing this... Travis cut her off saying, "Okay let's stop playing games because we both know that you had your eyes locked on me, so what's up"? Layla said with a nervous laughter, "Travey no one was looking at you so you can... Travis suddenly cut her of by holding her hand saying, "You know I just love it when you call me Travey". Layla started to say something, but she realized that she was at a lost for words. Layla said in an odd tone, "Um your kind of making me feel a little weird". Travis let Layla's hand go and went back to his seat as if what happened didn't even happen. Layla was a little flustered about what had happened. Layla really couldn't figure out if Travis was really serious in that moment, or if he was joking like Collin.

An hour had passed as they were heading towards E.F.H, and it seemed as if Travis was trying his best not to notice Layla on purpose. Collin had woken up from his long noisy sleep. Collin said yawning, "So Travey what happen with you and Layla"? Travis acted as if he didn't hear him ask a question about Layla. Collin smiled and left it at that. The bus had three more stops until they really reached the camp. Layla's boredom was beginning to takeover, and she wasn't really sure if she should really talk to Travis or Collin seeing that they weren't talking to her either. The bus finally stopped so everyone could order themselves something to eat. It was a stupid vegetarian restaurant that only had vegan dinners. Everyone got off the bus a little mad, and you could hear people saying why they couldn't order what they wanted. Layla began to laugh saying, "Well this is fat camp, and you get what you sign up for". Collin said angrily, "Well some of us didn't sign up to lose weight we trying to make a buck". Travis didn't really say anything regarding the whole dinner situation. Layla thought to herself, "Well he sure can keep a grudge". Collin grab Travis around his neck saying, "My nigga what you think about them not taking us to get some real food". Travis said uncaring, "Shit as long as I get something eat". Collin looked at him a little confused and then smiled a little. Collin said sneering, "Oh I know what your problem is you and ... Travis cut him off by pushing him. Collin just kept laughing as Layla was walking behind them wondering what they were laughing about. Everyone began choosing who and where they were going to sit at in this vegan restaurant. Collin pulled Layla's hand and brought her to where he and Travis would be sitting. Collin said, "Layla is sitting with us if that straight with you Travis". Travis just shrugged his shoulders and look at that menu. Layla said pulling away from Collin, "Look I really don't want to... Collin and looked at Layla and said, "Do you really think we would let you sit by yourself". Layla just gave in and sat in front of Travis, as Collin sat beside her. Their waitress came and they ordered their drinks because they were still looking for something to eat. Luckily they had seafood platters and it seemed as if everyone was ordering a fish sandwich or crab legs. As they were eating Collin kept giving funny looks as if they had a secret code. Layla was getting a little annoyed so she asked for a box to go. Collin just looked a little surprised, but he didn't say much as Layla made her way out of the restaurant. Travis looked at Collin and shrugged his shoulders and finished the rest of his food. Everyone made their way back to the bus, and it was around 9 p.m. Layla had fallen asleep and Collin tried to mess with her before he sat down but Travis pushed him into his seat. "Man you play too much", Travis said. Collin said laughing, "You the one playing too much, you know you like Layla and I don't know why you won't tell her". Travis punched Collin on the shoulder and said, "Shut up, plus I already tried and she got all weird, so I left her alone like she wanted me to". Collin said, "Nigga you stupid, you can't get at her like any other girl she different I thought you knew that of all people". Travis just shrugged his shoulders, and he and Collin started talking about high school not knowing that someone was listening to their conversation in front of them.
