Chapter 9 What's Wrong

As Travis and Collin were doing their morning drills they saw Vanessa looking at their way while she was getting a towel from the towel area. Collin said feeling weird, "Aye bruh she done took your face and stole it from Layla". Travis just started laughing as they were finishing up the morning drills. Back with Vanessa she had reasoning for why she was looking at Travis so hard. Hunter had told her some background on Travis. Hunter told Vanessa that Travis was the reason he and Layla weren't together. Vanessa didn't understand, so Hunter had to make even deeper lies. Hunter said, "Yes I know it sounds crazy, but every girl that I've ever like Travis would always try to take them from me. Me and Travis use to be great friends until I had enough". But Vanessa still doesn't understand how she helping him by messing with Travis. Hunter explained even further and said, "You see if you test him and make him like you, and then crush him by saying you go with me, I would've really got my revenge on that bastard". Vanessa still didn't understand what Hunter had her up to, but she didn't want to lose him and she would do anything for him just like she said. Even though Vanessa said she would do anything for him she didn't know it would be this extreme. Vanessa thought to herself, "I mean I would think he would've at least gotten angry of the fact that I'm trying to talk to another guy, but I don't want to ponder on it anymore I know what I have to do".

As they started their morning trail Asia seemed a little off that day. Layla tried asking her what was wrong, but Asia didn't want to talk about it at all. Then their morning trail was over and Asia said she wanted to skip out on lunch. Layla didn't understand, but she gave Asia the space she needed. As she headed to lunch she saw something she couldn't believe. Vanessa knew it was her only chance to test Travis, so she had to do it. As Travis was going inside the cafeteria he was stopped by Vanessa. Vanessa bumped into him and Travis grabbed her close to him so she wouldn't fall. Vanessa said embarrassed, "Um, I'm so sorry I didn't mean... Travis cut her off and said kindly, "It was nothing as long as you're okay". Vanessa noticed his light skin, and curly short cut, he was something to talk about though her heart was Hunter's to have. As he helped Vanessa she was getting a little too touchy feely while she was trying to get her thoughts together. Vanessa was about to say something to Travis, until his attention was taken by Layla who had seen them in their embrace. Travis suddenly left Vanessa to hang as he tried to follow Layla to her table. Vanessa was confused, because a guy like him wouldn't drop another girl for someone else especially a girl like Layla. Vanessa began to think that there was more to Layla than she really thought. Layla tried her best not to be angry when she saw Travis holding Vanessa. Travis sat beside her and asked a little annoyed, "So you really not gon answer me are you". Layla just shrugged her shoulders and started to eat wheat toast and fresh orange juice. Travis said pissed, "So you gon let something so simple come between us and our relationship"? Layla said spitefully, "What relationship". Travis got even angrier that he gotten up from the table and stormed out the cafeteria. Collin had seen Travis pacing in a vivid pace, so he tried talking to him to stop him. Collin asked concerned, "Aye bruh what's wrong". Travis just kept walking, and usually Collin would follow him, but he decided to give him some space. Collin headed towards the cafeteria and thought to himself, "Maybe I'll get the answer to my question here".

Collin came in and saw that Layla was sitting by herself, which was a little awkward. Collin walked up to the table to sit with Layla. Layla said angrily, "Look if you're here to apologize for Travis then I'm not accepting it". Collin looked confused and said, "Look at you, I ain't even here for your man, I'm just trying to eat". Layla just rolled her eyes as she took sips from her juice. Collin said jokingly, "So yeah anyways were my bae at"? Layla said worriedly, "She didn't want anything to eat today, something is wrong with her; I hope you didn't do anything to her". Collin started to look serious and he asked concerned, "Where she at now"? Layla said, "In her cabin, but you can't... Collin then got up and took a juice and his grilled cheese sandwich with him in a napkin heading towards their cabin. Layla couldn't help but feel that Collin was like some kind of superhero. As Collin was heading towards their cabin he almost had gotten bombarded by groupies, but they moved when they saw his serious facial expression. As he walked in their cabin Stacy looked confused at him. Stacy said concerned, "Hey you're not in my... Collin cut her off and said, "Listen I came to bring my girl something to eat, so if you don't mind". Collin held the food in Stacy's face and walked into the girl's side of the cabin. Stacy just let it happen; she knew it wasn't any harm intended. As Collin entered their side he saw Asia lying in the bed with the pillow over her head. Collin was thinking that he could scare her until she took the pillow off and he saw her face. Asia looked so red, and flushed as if she had been crying since the day before. Collin stood away from her as she looked at him. Asia said annoyed, "Why you come here I don't want you to see me like this". Collin couldn't say anything. Asia got a little tense and she said, "Look could you just leave, I just..." Collin came towards her, and sat right beside her. He then touched her chin with his finger, and he wiped her tears with his thumb. She began to cry even more, so he leaned in and kissed her. It felt like something he never felt before. Asia kissed him back, but she turned away. Collin asked, "What's wrong"? Asia said sniffling, "Today was the day that my mother had died". Collin was shocked that she was grieving; he really thought she was just being hormonal. Collin said feeling bad, "I'm sorry". Asia looked at him confused and said, "Why are you apologizing, you've stopped me from crying". Collin just looked away from her and Asia touch his face to turn him towards her. She kissed him and said sweetly, "Thank you so much". Collin smiled and then he handed her his lunch. Collin said jokingly, "Well I know you had to be hungry, and my bae can't be starving herself no matter how terrible she may feel". Asia giggled and took the food and ate it, not because she was hungry, but because it was from Collin.
