Chapter 29 The New Year

Layla was sitting on her bed, packing all the things she had. Layla was really showing, and she wasn't too happy about it. Layla wasn't as big as she thought she was going to be, and her sister and brother were helping her pack. Na'Shawn said sadly, "Dang sis you go and leave us like that". Layla smiled at her little brother and said, "You know I'm going to still see ya'll". Anaya started laughing and said jokingly, "I see someone is getting sentimental". Na'Shawn frowned at first and then smiled. Na'Shawn said disappointingly, "I just don't want it to be like my friend Kyle family, cause none of them talk, and it's only a little bit of them". Layla frowned at Na'Shawn's comment and said, "Bruh I'll always be there and don't forget that okay". Na'Shawn nodded, and continued packing up all of Layla's things. Gavin came in the room and said, "Layla you got everything together". Layla nodded and said exhausted, "Yep, we just got to get the boxes in the car now". Layla noticed that Maw Maw hadn't been there the entire day, and she knew that Maw Maw was upset. Layla thought angrily, "I mean it's her fault for making me feel less so, that's between her and God". Layla got up from the chair she was sitting in, and touched her belly. Layla was showing, and she was very tired, since she been working hard to get her child's furniture in the new apartment they'll be living in. They all finally got all the boxes, inside the cars and headed towards Layla's new place.

As they finally arrived to Layla's place, she had received a text from Asia saying she would come and help her settle in. Layla smiled and texted her back okay as she was setting boxes down in the living room. Na'Shawn began jumping all over Layla's apartment and said, "Sis it's really huge in here for it to be an apartment". Anaya smiled and said, "Well Na'Shawn that's because she hasn't gotten everything she's needed, but she will". Layla smiled and started putting her boxes in her master bed room. Layla had a two bedroom apartment, and 2 and and half bathrooms. Layla also had a huge deck; it was a town house, so no one stayed above her. Gavin asked Na'Shawn and Anaya if they were staying for a little while longer, and they said yeah. So Gavin said he would be back for them later, and finished bringing the rest of the boxes. Asia then arrived and her and Anaya both started on the baby room. While Layla and Na'Shawn were in the living room hooking up the old 33 inch TV Gavin had from his old house. Na'Shawn said excitedly, "So sis I can come over on weekends to play on your TV, cause you know I'm getting tired of my 18inch TV". Layla said confidently, "I might have something huger than this by then". Na'Shawn got all excited and said, "Well I'm definitely coming over then". After everyone was done Layla asked if everyone was hungry, and of course they said yeah. Asia the told Layla that she would ask Collin to bring some take out.

Layla was surprised when she saw Travis with Collin, and he was without Keyara. Collin said impressed, "Okay best friend I see you trying to get all grown up". Layla said laughing, "Yeah ". Asia walked up to Collin and kissed him and grabbed their food. Collin smiled and Travis just started looking around. Anaya saw him and said jokingly, "So Travis my sis house meets up with your standards". Travis shrugged as usual and said uninterested, "It's straight, I mean... yeah". As Layla squintted her eyes, she began to get annoyed by his attitude so she asked mockingly, "So where is Keyara". Travis looked annoyed and didn't even answer Layla's question. Collin started laughing and he looked as if he was going to tell what was wrong, but he just kept laughing. Travis looked annoyed so he just sat down in the chairs Gavin let Layla borrow until her furniture came in. Na'Shawn gave Travis dap, and asked Travis if he wanted to play modern warfare 3 with him, and her agreed. Collin told them he would be back with something to drink, and Asia went with him so she could get a few groceries for their house. Anaya was in the kitchen with Layla fixing their food. Layla called Na'Shawn to come and eat, and unknowingly she gives Na'Shawn some of Travis's sesame chicken. Eventually Collin and Asia come back with food for Layla's house and drinks. Layla said happily, "Oh you guys didn't have to do that". Asia smiled and said, "Girl you know we got you". Collin said jokingly, "Yeah I can't have my god child starving". Layla smirked, and Travis walked in the kitchen with them, and started looking for the food he ordered. Travis finally found his food and noticed he only had a little food missing. Travis said pissed, "Damn who ate all my shit". Everyone looked at Travis confused and continued eating, which pissed Travis off even more. Asia said kindly, "Well you can get some of our food". Travis just let out a breath of anger, and just got his food and sat back with Na'Shawn. Layla was getting tired of his attitude. Everyone eventually finished eating, and Gavin arrived to get Anaya and Na'Shawn. They both hugged Layla and told her they would be over tomorrow to help with her bed. Layla said okay, as they all left. Layla sat on her living room floor, and she started watching the movie everyone else was watching. Asia said happily as she was lying on Collin's shoulder, "It feels like old times". Meanwhile Travis was texting on his phone with an attitude, so Layla finally had enough as usual. Layla said angrily, "So what's up with you Travis". Travis looked in the direction of Layla and said annoyed, "What, you always got some shit to say to me". Collin said laughing, "Aww chill bruh she doesn't..." But Collin was cut off by Layla and she said livid, "Look I'm really trying with you, but you just want me to act like a fucking bitch, and cuss your ass out all the time". Asia frowned and said, "Layla please don't get upset". Layla frowned and said calmly, "Oh I'm not upset, I'm fine". Travis just blew out air of frustration again, and said pissed, "I'm ready to go cause I just can't deal with this shit".
