Chapter 12 Bowling

Layla had asked Maw Maw if she could use her Honda CRV 2010 to drive to the bowling alley. Her grandma was little skeptical knowing all of what had happened to Layla at the camp, but she decided to let her use her car. Anaya wanted to go, but Maw Maw wanted Anaya to watch Na'Shawn while she and Gavin went to bible study. Anaya was hesitant at first until Maw Maw said she would pay her. Layla got in the car in headed to the bowling alley. Layla had to stop for gas, realizing that her grandmother hasn't been driving ever since she met Gavin. Layla just giggled to herself as she made her way into the gas station. Once Layla paid for her gas she made her way to the pump where she saw a couple arguing on the other side. The couple was arguing about something so petty, that it made Layla shake her head. Layla got inside the car in headed towards the bowling alley. Meanwhile back at the house with Anaya and Na'Shawn, Anaya texted for Landon to come over. It took him less than five minutes to reach her house. Na'Shawn was too busy playing modern warfare on the Xbox 360, so they were downstairs all alone. Meanwhile at the bowling alley Asia, Collin, Travis, Jamal, and Shelly were all waiting on Layla, playing in the video game area. Shelly said to Jamal competitively, "Bae we gon win and ya'll gon have to run outside with nothing on, but draws". Asia started giggling imaging all of them running around after losing the game. Jamal just shrugged his shoulders and daped Collin and said, "Yeah and if ya'll lose each one of ya'll got to... Asia said sternly, "Oh no we gon win regardless". Travis said jokingly, "You thought, ya'll niggas bout to get a beating of a lifetime". Once Travis said that; Layla was making her way towards them.

Asia walked up to Layla and hugged her and said happily, "It feel like forever since I seen you Layla". Layla nodded her head in agreement. Layla then notice Jamal and Shelly and waved at them. Collin then scared her from behind. Layla said angrily, "Why you always playing, shit". Layla saw Travis and waved, but he only nodded in an uncaring way. Jamal said jokingly, "Well lets start because I'm ready to serve ya'll ass whopping". They all started to laugh as Collin programmed everyone into the game. Layla pulled her loose Marley twist into a bun and realized that it was time for her to take out her braids. Once Collin finished programming everyone in the first one to start was Asia. Layla thought to herself, "Collin loves making Asia nervous he's so fucking aggravating". Asia actually knocked nine out, and got the last pin. Jamal and Travis looked a little surprised, and it made Collin like Asia even more. But then it was Jamal's turn and he didn't knock out shit. Next was Shelly and she did better than Jamal knocking out five and then two other pins. Collin was next and of course he got a strike seeing that the boy's were losing, he probably wanted to make the game more competitive. Layla was up next and only knocked five pins down. As she walked pass Travis for his turn it seemed as if he bumped into her purposely. Layla was going to say something, but she just sat down and acted as if he didn't affect her. And then it was another strike for the boys. Shelly said angrily, "Ya'll niggas cheating". Jamal just shook his head and said mockingly, "No bae it's called talent". Layla laughed and said jokingly, "Yeah right". As she looked in the direction of Travis she could tell he was getting in his feeling, so she just looked away.

Collin noticed that Travis wasn't acting like himself, so Collin being the crack head that he was decided to start bowling in closed alleys with Travis. Layla realized what Collin did while everyone else kept bowling. The boys were in the league, and Asia, Shelly, and Layla all went to get some snacks at the snack stand. Shelly said jokingly, "So ya'll if we lose you know we got to... Asia cut her off and said laughing, "We not gon lose trust me". Shelly and Layla both shrugged as they order cheesy nachos, and Slurpee's. Once they made their way back Collin came up to Asia and asked for a sip of her Slurpee. Asia gave him some, and once he was finished Asia kissed him off guard. Shelly and Layla started to smile at each other realizing what plan Asia had made up the snack stand. Asia had pushed him jokingly and said, "Now make a strike bae". Collin tried to act like he wasn't bother by the kiss, but it showed in his bowling. Collin had missed on both his tries. Jamal had realized what they did and said angrily, "Ya'll cheated". Travis just shook his head and actually laughed. Collin still didn't realize what Asia had done to him after the girls had finally won. Collin said pissed, "Bae can't believe you would cheat like that". Asia just started to giggle, and Layla said jokingly, "You know you liked it". Once the game was over they all got ready to go. Collin tried to pull Layla aside to ask her a question. Collin said slyly, "Hey Layla I was wondering if you could take Travis back to his crib because I got to take Asia and Jamal to their neighborhood". Layla looked at him crazy and said, "Why can't you ask Shelly to take him"? Collin looked at Shelly's direction where Shelly was making a call to her dad. Collin said jokingly, "As you can see Shelly is a daddy's girl and if her fucking dad sees her standing with Travis shit will go down". Layla just sucked her teeth as she got her bag from her chair. Layla said annoyed, "I guess Collin, but damn it next time have ya'll shit together". Collin just started to laugh as if he made up a huge plan for them to get back together. As Layla and Travis headed towards Maw Maw's car it felt like drama wasn't too far from them.
