Chapter 17 It's Christmas: Part 1

Two weeks had passed from Travis' Birthday and Maw Maw was so excited about this Christmas since she had a new man. Maw Maw was in the living room trying to put up the Christmas tree. Na'Shawn was with her preparing to put the tree up. Maw Maw said happily, "Baby wasn't Thanksgiving good". Na'Shawn shook his head yeah, and said, "I like that we ate pizza instead of dry turkey, that stuff is nasty Maw". Maw Maw just looked at him crazy and said, "Boy my food is never dry, even if it's turkey". Na'Shawn started smiling, and laughing. Na'Shawn said jokingly, "Maw Maw you went to Bojangles for our turkey last year". Maw Maw pinched him as he was separating the ornaments. Anaya came down the steps and told Maw Maw that she was heading over to her friend's house. Anaya was actually going to go see Charles. Meanwhile Layla was upstairs texting Travis. Travis texted her and said for her to come hang out with him, and watch a movie. Layla actually agreed and texted him back saying she would come. Back with Anaya she was waiting for Charles at the bus stop, as he pulled up and she got in his car. Charles said angrily, "So why you make me drive all the way over here". Anaya said quietly, "Look I don't want to be with you anymore, so". Charles looked at her, and felt like he was about to blow. Charles grabbed her arm, and said, "Bitch after all I done for you". Anaya pulled away from Charles and slapped him. Charles started breathing heavily holding the steering wheel. Anaya said spitefully, "Nigga don't you ever touch me, stupid ass". Anaya kept ranting and got out of his car, but it wasn't over. Charles got out of his car and ran towards Anaya and started to choke her. Charles said angrily, "Bitch don't you ever try me, the fuck". Anaya began fucking Charles up; first she kicked him between his legs. Then Anaya punched him in the nose he started leaking from his nose. Charles instantly held his nose not realizing she hit him as hard as she did. So as Anaya came for more,

Charles rushed her, and punched her, but some boys who were standing around saw him, and ran towards them. They pulled Charles off of Anaya and started jumping him. Anaya's lip was bleeding, and as she got up from the ground some guy held her from getting to him. Anaya said in an angry slur, "Bitch do you know I will kill you". The boy walked off carrying Anaya as she was trying her best to get to Charles. As the boy was walking with her, they kicked Charles windows and Charles ran and got into his car and pulled off. The guys were pissed that he was so scared to fight them, but wanted to fight a girl. The boy holding Anaya finally let her go when he noticed Charles was far from gone. Anaya said angrily, "That bitch, that's why I left his ass leaking". The boy took his hoodie off and balled it up touching Anaya's bust lip. Anaya was still in a cursing rant, but she let the guy clean her up. The guy said angrily, "If I was there sooner, I would've beaten his ass". Anaya looked up at the boy and noticed he was kind of cute. Anaya suddenly pulled away, and said kindly, "Thank you, uh". The boy said nicely, "Oh, ny name is Daniel". Anaya said, "Well thank you Daniel, but I got to get home". Daniel said okay, but before she left Daniel asked for her name. Anaya said sweetly, "My name is Anaya Piers, now I got to go because I'm still pissed". Daniel smiled as she walked away. Meanwhile Asia was at home with her dad and her dad asked if she wanted to invite Collin over for Christmas, since he ate with them at Thanksgiving. Asia was a little skeptical, because of the way her dad was treating Collin on thanksgiving. Asia said questionably, "I don't really know dad, but I'll ask him". John said with a sly smile, "Oh and you should invite his parents as well". Asia rolled her eyes at her dad and told him she would, just so he could stop bugging her. Asia walked into her bedroom and received a text message from her ex boyfriend Brian. Asia and Brian went together in high school. Brian was sweet at first until he would mentally destroy Asia's confidence.

Asia was forced by her father to break up with Brian, because of the way Asia start to become depressed. John had threatened that if she were to keep seeing Brian he would make he live wih Aunt Yolanda, and Asia definitely didn't want to stay with her nagging ass. Asia ignored the text not realizing she should've deleted it. Meanwhile Layla was heading towards Travis' home. At Travis' house his parents were out shopping for their parents Christmas gifts. Travis was downstairs in his room and her heard his doorbell ring. He quickly got up the stairs and headed towards the front door. He was surprised to see who was at his door. It was Nia smiling and wearing one of his jackets he let her borrow. Nia said joyful, "Well bae aren't you going to let me in or what". Travis was looking out of his screen door confused. Travis said scratching his head confused, "Uh what are you here for". Nia looked at him and said joyful, "Bae please let me in, your acting cray cray". Travis opened the screen door to let her in, and Nia quickly walked pass him as if she were searching for something. Travis looked at her and asked, "Uh what are you doing". Nia walked up close on Travis and touched his beard with her fingers. "Bae you know I feel like I took the whole kitchen situation thing all out of hand, and I just want to start over". Travis started to frown as he moved her hand away from his face. Nia still was pressing for an answer and said, "So what do you say". Travis rubbed his beard and began laughing. Travis said through his laughter, "Nia, you really look sad". Nia just kept smiling. Then they both heard the door bell ringing, and it was Nia's chance to do what she came to do. Nia grabbed Travis before he answered the door and kissed Travis. She had pink lipstick smudged all over his lips. Travis pushed her as he looked at her confused. Travis finally got to the door and answered it. Layla was at the door, and she looked so cute to Travis. He realized that Layla was frowning. Layla reached and touched Travis' lips and wiped off the pink lipstick with her thumb. Travis touched his mouth, and realized what Nia had come to do. Layla headed towards the car, and Travis followed behind her. Travis grabbed Layla's arm and Layla snatched away. Layla said sadly, "Look, I don't want to be a girl on your list, so please let my damn arm go". Travis said sternly, "Look Layla please just stay I need..." Layla shook her head no and said, "You don't need me, as I can see". As Layla said that her eyes were focused on Nia who was now heading towards her car". Travis face was flushed and red, he finally let Layla go. Layla got in the car and started her engine. As Layla dove off she began to think that she was really wasting her time with Travis.

Back at Asia' home John was getting ready to go to work. He hugged Asia goodbye as he drove off. A few minutes later Collin arrived at her house and Asia was already waiting in the living room for him. Asia answered the door and gave Collin a hug. Collin kissed Asia on the cheek, and said sweetly, "You miss me ". Asia nodded her head and they both sat down in the living room preparing to watch a movie. Asia had pizza inside the oven for them and realized it was time to take the pizza out. While Asia was heading toward the kitchen she received a text message. Collin yelled towards the kitchen, "Aye bae you got a text message". Asia said confidently, "You can check it". Collin checked the message and saw that it had no name". He finally opened the message and read it to himself. Once Asia got back with the pizza she tried handing Collin his plate, and he seemed uneasy Asia asked frowning, "What's wrong". Collin showed her the text message and said, "So this is what we doing talking to other people". Asia smiled confused, "What are you talking about". Asia read the message and realized it was Brian. Asia said shaking her head, "Babe this person means nothing, I..." Collin cut her off and got up angrily. Collin said heatedly, "I'm leaving, and you can text old dude back since we're not together". Asia got up and grabbed Collin's shoulder Asia said sadly, "Collin are you breaking up with me"? Collin opened the front door of her home with his back turned to Asia, and said coldly, 'You made that decision for yourself". Collin shut her door, and Asia felt like the air was blown from her stomach, and her eyes felt dry like a desert. Asia sat on the couch confused, and began to eat her pizza sadly. Layla finally got home and went upstairs into her room. Maw Maw was downstairs with Gavin, and they were listening to jazz music. Na'Shawn had a friend staying over; And Anaya was talking on the phone with Gabi. Layla lie on her bed and put a pillow over her head. Layla began to cry to her self. Layla thought to herself, "I just don't understand, it's like he wants everything". Layla finally laid her head on her pillow, and fell asleep.Christmas was coming, but would the joy of Christmas be coming too.
