"Yea, it's definitely broken, you're going to need crutches for about a month," the doctor stated.

"Great," I said sarcastically.

"You get to miss PE for a month and a half."

"Great!!!" I said not sarcastically.

Then the doctor Jim did a couple more blood tests.

After he was finally done telling me my ankle was broken and we got home, I tested out my crutches.

"These won't be so bad once I get used to them.." I muttered to myself.

And then I fell over.

I groaned in pain.

"Do you need help?" Mom asked.

"Nah I'm comfortable here on the floor." I replied in a sarcastic tone.

"Oh."

"HELP ME!" I rolled my eyes.

She took my hand and pulled me up. Then she grabbed my crutches off of the floor and gave them to me.

As the doctor started talking to mom, I got lost in thought.

It's great I get to miss PE for a month... But won't I have to make up some stuff? What am I gonna do... Watch people? Sounds boring. Grade papers?

And then I realized something.

Connor.

___________________

I've been dreading going back to school. Dreading.

Reasons-

1. People are going to laugh at me because of my ankle
2. Connor.

The second one was half torture and half excitement.

I don't know why it's half excitement.

When it was PE period, I had a total of 0 signatures on my cast, one almost broken crutch, one headache and had a total of 24 insults.

I hate life.

I made my way to PE and leaned against a tree. I heard Ms. Darwin whisper something to Connor, and then walked over to me.

"She told me to keep you company," he explained as he stood in front of me, "Are you okay?"

"Yea."

"You don't look okay."

I felt the tears form in my eyes.

"Because I'm not," and I started to sob.

"Rain, you're going to be okay. I'm here for you. Do you want to talk about anything?"

He pulled me into a big hug, and I started to tell him everything.
