I don't what it is about her that drives me crazy.
I know she has a boyfriend but I can't help it, my mind is telling me no but my heart is telling me yes.
Ever since she walked through those doors of Calabasas High, I haven't stopped thinking about her.
I can't help but to stare at her when we're in dance class, the way her body moves to the rhythm of the music like the ocean waving back and forth on the shoreline.
The way her curves compliments her body. Perfect.
She's graceful.
In math class when Mrs. Anderson is teaching us a lesson, she makes these facial expressions that are to die for. "Do you understand any of this?!" She whispered, asking with a puzzled look.
"Yeah, A+Bx+C=0. So you take the numbers that are in those places for an example if the problem is 2+6x+1=0 then you'll put A=2, B=6, and C=1 and then you put it in quadractic formula."
Her eyes got wide and then she smiled that bright beautiful white smile that you see often. My heart melted and I became weak.
If her smile has that effect on me, I can only imagine what else she can do.
"Hey? Pssst!" she whispered while waving her hand in my face.
"Huh... oh yeah, sorry umm.."
"LaReina. LaReina Vargas. But you can call me Lyric." She said as she held out her hand.
"Lyric." I said to myself and gently took her hand. I couldn't explain the sparks that shot up my arm and throughout my whole body.
She must've felt it too by how fast she pulled away from me and blushed a little bit.
"So... Is this correct?" She asked and I leaned over to check her answer.
"Yeah, that's right." I looked down at her and smiled.
The bell rang and we got up picking up our papers and handing them to Mrs. Anderson. I walked back to my desk to get my backpack and head to my next class, which was History.
As I was slinging my backpack over my shoulder I knocked something on the floor. "Ugh." I blew a raspberry as I knelt down to pick up whatever it was that I dropped.
I picked up a green book that had cheetah print pattern all over it, a purple peace sign sticker in the right corner, and pictures in the inside of the plastic cover.
I knew exactly who's it was. I see it everyday when we're in class.
Lyric's...
I walked out of class and headed down the hall looking in every direction trying to find her. I finally found her after asking a couple of people with no luck of knowing where she was.
She was outside in the little courtyard that was surrounded by plants and flowers of different kinds.
She wasn't alone, she was with Jaden.
I don't have any animosity towards Jaden or anything, we're cool people. I'm just a little jealous that he got to her first and not me.
"Hey Lyric?" I felt a smirk growing across my face.
"Oh, hey uh, um?"
"Rayan. Rayan Lopez. I'm sorry I forgot to introduce myself earlier."
I smiled and looked over at Jaden and saw his grip around Lyric's waist tighten and then loosen up.
She gave him an annoyed look, and then it started to soften. That soft look that says to calm down.
"I just wanted to give this to you." I held up the book. "I know it's probably really important to you, so I looked all over to give it back" I chuckled.
Gosh, she makes me nervous.
She stood up first and then Jayden stood up after intertwining their hands and shoving his free hand in his pocket.
She walked up to me and gently took the book out my hand, giving me a small smile.
"This means so much to me." She said putting the book in her bag and looking up at me with those beautiful light brown eyes. "Thank you Rayan." She said to me softly as she begin to walk away.
Hearing her soft serene voice say my name made the hairs on my neck stand up instantly.
I exist to her now.
I noticed I was in my mind again. I left my thoughts, thinking about the first time we ever talked to each other, realizing that Powertrip by J.Cole ft. Miguel was on.
"Would you believe me if I said i'm in love? Baby, I want you to want me."
These lyrics were on point, ever since that day I haven't been able to get her out of my head.
I want her to realize how much time she's wasting being with Jaden, he's no good. I've known him too long, his temper is not controllable.
But that's not any of my business, Jacob is her best friend. I'm sure he tries to warn her.
I'm just afraid that she will piss him off to the point to where he actually loses control and hits her.
"This means so much to me." "Thank you, Rayan." Those two sentences kept dancing around in my mind as I laid in bed listening to the song.
What if that was me instead of Jaden?
What if I got to her before he did?
Why didn't I talk to her when I had the chance?
So many questions that have yet to be answered.
I need to call the only one that I know I can talk to about this situation.
The only one who understands me better than the guys.
My best friend...
