"Let's give it up for our varsity dance team!"
The crowd started going wild with ear bleeding screams and cheers as we walked out to the middle of the gym.
We were at our last pep rally of the year, and now it's our time to blow the crowd away once again.
Standing there in my Gold and Black uniform I looked into the crowd at every single face as they waited for the beat of the music to drop.
I came across one face in particular.
That well defined and sculpted jawline and those beautiful chocolate eyes.
He winked at me and gave me that drop dead gorgeous smile of his that made my heart skip three beats.
That's when the instrumental beat to "Booty Me Down" started..
The beat dropped and that's when we started to do one of our best routines that we saved for this day.
Then "Baddie" started blasting through the speakers.
As me and Nirvana being co-captains of the teams, we were in the front doing our thing, wooing the crowd with our perfection.
Then it was Lyric's and Haven's turn.
"Love More" by Chris Brown started to blast through the speakers.
Haven walks up and starts doing her own routine that she made up herself while Lyric puts her cheer skills into use with three of the other girls.
Cartwheel's into a backflip.
The crowd goes crazy.
Double stunt from a toe touch to a right hurdler.
The crowd 'Ooooh's and aaaaaah's.'
Enough motivation to do our finale.
We got into our postions to end this season with a bang.
Six pirouettes and down into the splits.
Bang!
As soon as we hit our splits, confetti burst into the air.
The feeling of letting music take you away from the world for 5 mintues is one of the best feelings ever. Adrenaline was taking over fast.
The crowd gave us a standing ovation as we walked out to catch our breath and get some water.
"You guys were great tonight, I think we're the best dance team that this school has had so far." Lyric said with a big smile on her face.
It was true, Calabasas hasn't had a good dance team since 2004 and here we are, Class of '14.
"Someone was checking you out, girl." Haven nudged me.
"Yeah, what's up with that. When are you two going to date already?" Nirvana asked, referring to me and Craig. Though she had some nerve, she knew Chres since middle school and they were still 'friends.'
"When Chresanto gets the courage to ask you out." I smirked at her.
"Shit just got real!" Lyric instigated.
Nirvana slit her eyes at me, "You a hoe!" she rolled her eyes, "I'm going to go finish watching the game."
"You mad or nah?"
We all started dying of laughter when she left.
"Why you do her like that Ki? You know that was wrong!" Haven said.
