Lyric
It's been a week and Rayan still hasn't said one word to me, not the words that I want to hear anyways. The only time he says something is when he tells me if I have a photoshoot or a studio session I have to get to.
"People seem to think
that you'll be happier, once you reach the top
You'll have it all
But I'm living for right now
Cause what if tomorrow never comes
I'm not waiting, I'm not waiting
For the confetti to fall."It hurts because we were supposed to go through this together. Yes, he's still my manager and all but he's not fully here. It's like he's my manager and nothing else, strictly business. I haven't heard an 'I love you' in a whole week. I haven't felt his soft lips fit mine in a week. I feel alone.
"If there was a rope stretching up to the sky with all of my dreams at the very top, so high
I get so caught up in everything around me, moving quickly
I forget to cherish every single moment I receive, ohh.""People seem to think
That you'll be happier, once you reach the top
You'll have it all
But I'm living for right now, hey
Cause what if tomorrow never comes
I'm not waiting, no I'm not waiting
For the confetti to fall
I'm not waiting to be happy
No, no, no, no, no, no, no
Ooh, yeah.""That's a wrap." My producer Aaron said.
I took off my headphones and exited the booth.
"Was it good Aaron?" I asked as I sat down in the chair next to his.
"It was perfect, want a playback?" He asked. I nodded my head and he started fiddling with different buttons.
"Oh, oh, oh, oh. 1,2,3,4
I gotta keep myself in check sometimes
Cause' I tend to dream real big sometimes."
I started bobbing my head to the beat as I listened to it.
The fancy outfits and the sparkly awards
My name in lights, the people lined up at the doors
But I gotta remember to take it one step at a time."
I pressed the pause button and sat there in silence."What do you think?" Aaron asked.
"I love it." I smiled. "I absolutely love it."
"You're fans are gonna love it too." He smiled.
See there's one thing about Aaron, he's fine as hell. Lightskin, curly hair, tattoos from the neck down, toned body, well dressing, and he smells good all the time. He's an eye catcher and definitely a ladies man. But he's knows his boundaries and he knows that I would never cheat on Rayan so he doesn't try anything with me.
"So has Rayan talked to you yet?" He cut into my thoughts.
"No, he hasn't." I frowned.
"Hey, cheer up." He grabbed my chin. "He'll come around, you know he can't stay away from you too long. I know I sure wouldn't if I was him."
"Aaron."
"Lyric."
I gave him a warning look and rolled my eyes. I got up from the chair and grabbed my purse.
"You know the deal so stop it okay?" I told him. He stared at me for a minute, got up from his chair and laughed.
"Alright Lyric we'll play these games." We were face to face. "But when you're ready for a real man, you know where to call me."
