"Alright, let's take it from the top guys, we have our last competition tomorrow and I want it to be perfect." I smiled, getting into formation before the music started.
Yeah I've only been here for two years but I'm captain of the squad and this is my last year to make it the best squad before I leave.
After Big Red held a meeting for the cheer squad, stating that I would be the new captain, I've been busting my ass to get this team to the best of my ability I could get it to.
Now we were the best of the best and no other team could even touch us, their skills were such a downgrade from what I've been teaching my team that it's almost embarrassing for them to compete against us.
Don't let my two years fool you because I was a cheerleader for my whole four years of high school, two years back in New York and two years now, what could I say, I've always had a thing to be an athlete.
After we finished our routine that we would be doing tomorrow, I started on the cheers and chants that we would be doing Thursday night at the last baseball game.
Senior year is such a busy body, you have your senior projects, your pictures, prom, grad night, and graduation, that's a whole year of full on planning. But senior year is also the best year of high school, you have so much freedom and so many opportunities to put finishing touches on what you started.
Honestly, I'll miss high school the most out of my years, those years that broke me but made me into the person I am today.
As I finished up with the cheer routine I seen Jaden walk in with his Jock crew, uniforms and basketballs in their hands.
"The gym is off limits today, we're in the middle of practice. You guys have to leave," I walked up to him and folded my arms over my chest.
"Chill LC, I just came in here to see my baby in action," Jaden said.
"Mhm, sure you did," I gave him a Peck on the lips, "You can see me in action on Thursday, now tell me why you're really here," I lifted up my eyebrow at him.
Jaden smacked his lips and said, "I came to retire my uniform to Coach, and I also wanted to ask if you want to go out tomorrow night, just me and you." He asked.
"Jaden I can't, I have competition tomorrow remember," I asked.
"Oh yeah, I totally forgot about that babe, I promised that I'd be there too huh," He bit down on his index finger.
"Yeah you did," I leaned on my left hip, staring up at him. "But look I have to get back to practice, so I'll see you after, I say 20 minutes?"
"Yeah, alright. I have to get this back to coach anyways, see you later love," He kissed my cheek and left out the gym.
I sighed and went back over to the team as they cooed at me, giving me ooh's and aw's, I just rolled my eyes at them and got back to working on the routine.
"They are something else," I mumbled to myself, laughing a bit.
Things were actually better since I decided the break between Jaden and I. We're even closer than we were before..
After three full hours of hard work, I was washed up, dressed in nothing but a sports bra and yoga pants with a sweater tied around my waist and my sports bag slung across my body, heading out to the front of the school to look for Jaden.
He was waiting in the parking lot, leaning on his 2003 candy apple red Mustang GT.
As my eyes fell onto his I smiled as he waved to me.
