I ran through the forest, slowly getting closer and closer to the pack. I made sure to keep my distance, so if anything went wrong I could escape. I ran for a couple of minutes, and then I got confused. No one appeared, and I instantly worried that Sydney or Cooper had fucked up.

That's when I heard a wolf howl, to prove me wrong. I mentally smirked, and let out a high pitched snarl to lead the wolves my way. I saw them through the trees. There were three. Two were running behind me, and one was running beside me, trees and bushes separating our bodies. I pushed myself to run faster, the dark grey wolf soon fell behind.

Just as I thought I had lost them, another wolf emerged from behind a large bush. I noticed she was a female, and it didn't take long before her light brown body tackled mine. Although she did manage to push me over, I pushed her body off mine and pinned her to the ground. I bit into her shoulder, and she quickly started losing blood. I regained myself, and continued running, leaving the she wolf unconscious the ground.

In the meantime, the three previous wolves had managed to gain some distance, and where close behind me. I pushed myself to run faster, satisfied when they ended up far away from me. Just as I thought I could slow down, four wolves, all different shades of grey, appeared in front of me. They ran at me in full speed, so I took the path of the trees. I leaped to my right onto a high branch, clawing my way up the tree. I sat in the branches, rather comfortable, waiting for their next move. One wolf tried to jump into the tree, so I swiftly pounced into the one beside me. They all stood still, staring at me.

If I stayed put, they might try get some help. And I didn't want to risk Sydney getting caught. So I jumped through several trees before landing back on the ground. I looked over my shoulder, and sure enough they had all began running after me again.

I ran at a steady pace, so they would think they had a shot at catching me. As more wolves appeared, I easily dodged passed them or fought them. I kept an even distance between me and my chasers, letting them get close before running off at full speed, just to lead them on.

Just as I was about to slow down once more, I saw a fallen tree in the distance. Sydney had said that once I reached the tree, she would be done. I ran up to it before jumping over it and then aiming at the trees above me. I climbed up and pounced through the forest. I reached the end of their territory, but didn't stop until I was far enough into neutral land. Satisfied that they were too far away to find me, I found a comfortable place to rest, stretching myself out on the branch.

Lana's breathing slowed down, as we slowly started to doze off. I felt a sudden pang of longing in the bottom of my stomach. I wasn't sure if it was me missing my mate, or my mate's feelings rushing through my body. Just as I was about to come to the conclusion that it was my feelings I was dealing with, a jolt of anger reached my chest and I felt the sudden need to punch something. That changed my mind, and I began to try calm myself down by taking long deep breaths.

Soon enough, the anger stopped. I was relieved that Adam had calmed down, but worried that he might have hurt someone. Exhausted, Lana closed her eyes and fell asleep, hoping that Sydney had succeeded and we would soon see our family again.

I woke up the next morning and, judging by the sun, it was late morning. I didn't feel like getting up, so I decided that we would keep sleeping. I hate waking up in general, and today was no exception. Leopards are very lazy creatures, and I'm a very lazy creature. Together we could sleep all day long.

Are you serious? Nika asked. Nika enjoyed being out and about as much as possible. But two against one. We win.

Yep, I replied, with a mental yawn.

Do you not remember why we are out here? She asked.

What are you..? I asked before I remembered. Shit!

I quickly got Lana up and we ran at full speed towards Helen's. All that was on my mind was my family. I hadn't seen them in so long. What if they hate me? What if they're ashamed of me? What if they're scared of me?

So many questions where running through my mind, but the worst of all was one I didn't want to think about. What if Sydney failed?

I pushed Lana to run faster, not stopping until I reached the end of the woods. I shifted and grabbed the clothes that were laid out for me on the floor. Once fully covered, I jogged towards the café. When the scent of my family reached my nostrils, I knew she hadn't failed.

I slowly opened the door, and Helen looked up at me with a smile.

"They're downstairs," she said. "Probably playing with Pup." I took a deep breath after giving her a small smile. I made my way to the door, a million thoughts running through my head as I entered the living room. Four heads turned to look at me. I stood still, scared that if I move, I would scare them away.

"Octavia," I heard a whisper of disbelief.

"Mom."

I ran to my mother, not hesitating to embrace her. I held on to her so tight, scared to let her go. I inhaled her sweet scent, and before I knew it, I was sobbing.

"I missed you so much," I hiccuped.

"I missed you too, sweetheart." She replied. "Now let me look at you."

She broke our embrace and held my face in her hands. I looked straight into her eyes and noticed a tear begin to fall down her cheek.

"My, how you've grown." She smiled before planting a kiss on my forehead. "The last time I saw you you were a little teenage girl."

"A lot can happen in six years," I turned to see my father smiling down at the two of us.

"Dad," I croaked through tears, before throwing myself at him.

"How's my little Kitty Cat?" He asked.

"I tried to find you. I tried so hard-"

"Hey, look at me." He said, and I tilted my head. I saw that he had a scar on his face, but couldn't bring myself to question it. "We're fine. We're all safe."

"We're all here," I heard a new voice speak, and I tilted my head to see my brother staring at me.

I sobbed even harder as I hugged him, and we squeezed each other tightly, relief flooding through our bodies.

"I missed you so much, Sam." I sobbed into his shoulders.
