As I parked my car in our driveway I noticed someone sitting on my front porch. And by the time I got closer I recognized who it was. Aiden. I haven't seen him or talked to him since he found out."Hey." I said quietly.
"So you're a witch huh?" He blurted out quickly before I could say anything else.
I nodded. "That was a pretty important and huge part of your life that you should have shared with me don't you think?" He said with a comforting smile.I sat next to him. "Yeah I know, I'm sorry, I didn't know myself until a few weeks ago, I had just been back to being friends with you and I couldn't afford to lose you again by telling you something as crazy as this, and by dragging you in this mess of a life I have."
"Hey don't say that!" He said grabbing my hand and squeezing it hard. "You're not gonna lose me, not now not ever."
I didn't say anything, instead I just rested my head on his shoulder, forgetting all about why I rushed home so quickly. He kissed my forehead and I looked up at him and smiled. Just when I heard Nina's voice coming from inside, I realized that my lips were on Aiden's.
"I thought I heard you out here." She said and opened the door and saw us kissing on the porch.
"I'm sorry." She said her mouth hanging open and she calmly closed back the door.
"Aiden-" I was saying when he cut me off.
"Yeah, yeah, I know you don't feel that way about me we're just friends, we've been through this before. I'm sorry." He apologized.
"Are you gonna be okay?"
"Yeah, and we're good, by the way, go talk to her before she needs therapy." He joked and I grabbed my purse and went inside, leaving him there alone.
_________
"What was that?" Nina said sitting on my bed in my room.
"He kissed me."
"Well you didn't stop him."
"Who kissed who?" Andrea said walking in with snacks in her hand.
"Mickayla kissed Aiden." She said and Andrea gasped.
"I didn't kiss him, he kissed me, and there's another thing."
They both looked at me intrigued, waiting for me to tell them. "I amlost kissed Declan."
"What?!" They both snapped at me.
I ended up telling them everything from the werewolf incident to the almost kiss in the apartment. We were having our girl talk and things were finally looking up and I was finally feeling normal again when my bedroom door swinged open.
"You need to come downstairs, now!" Jordan said and left the door open for us. We exchanged glances and followed him. When we got there we saw Godric and Lione.
"What's going on?" I said confused.
"I think we found a way." Godric said excited. We went down to our basement it was filled with candles and books the one from my dream.
"This is why mom and dad never let us come down here?" I asked to Lione. He just nodded, and prepared to light up the candles.
"I'll do it." I said smirking. "Acender-se." I said and all of the candles lit up.
"Wait, did you say the spells are in Latin?" Andrea said.
"Yeah why?"
"I'm pretty sure that's not Latin."
"How do you know this?" Lione asked confused.
"I'm half Italian, my dad is and my grandma used to sing to me in Latin and trust me that is not Latin. What does it mean in English what you just said?"
"Light up." I said innocently.
"Yep, not Latin, see my grandma when she sang to me the song said light up, light up my little angel bla bla bla and believe me that's not the word that has the definition of light up." She answered.
"She's right." Godric said looking into the books. "It's Portuguese."
"Okay let's just do this before my parents come back." I said.
"Where are they anyway?" Jordan asked.
"Who knows." I sighed. As I was about to begin the spell I heard Aiden's voice from upstairs calling our names.
"Down here." I yelled.
"Mickayla!" They all yelled at me like what I did was wrong.
"He knows already and he needs to see it for himself."
"I think he got a pretty good look the other day." Nina said implying to me to avoid him because of the kiss.
"What's the big deal?" Jordan said. The three of us looked at each other.
"They kissed, Aiden kissed Mickayla." Andrea said.
"You what?" Lione and Jordan said at the same time.
"Who's Aiden?" Godric asked and we all laughed a little.
"That's me." Aiden said coming down the the last stair with a shocked expression.
"Let's just do the damn spell." I said ignoring everyone's comments and glances.
I had to contact my ancestor Abrielle and ask for her forgiveness and approval for what I'm about to do. I warned my friends that what they're about to witness can be scary and ugly but they decided to stay anyways. Only Evan was missing but then he texted Jordan saying he was outside our house.
"Bring him down here." I said feeling exhausted from all the postponing of the spell.
"Holy shit." He said when he came down and joined the others at the corner. While I was sitting center of the basement on the ground, lit candles all around me.
"Patris mei detisque mihi signum partis alterius." Nothing happened. I said the same sentence again and the candles went off.
"Abrielle if you're there, listen to me, please help me I don't want to do this."
"Keep trying." Godric said.
"Acender-se." I said again for the candles to light back up.
"Spiritus Abrielle undo maledictio adiuva me incolumem servaveris lamia."
And suddenly a shadowy figure of a woman appeared to me and started shouting at me.
"No! You cannot love a vampire it is impossible vampires are not capable of love I did not give away my powers to you so you could give them to waste because you love a vampire."
"They've changed Abrielle they're not the same anymore they're not monsters."
"Who is she talking to?" Evan asked confused.
"It's Abrielle, she's here" Lione said.
"Who?" Aiden asked confused.
I heard Abrielle mutter something in Latin that I had never heard of before and the last thing I remember was seeing my friends running up to me and then everything went dark.
