Chapter 27.

Mickayla's POV

We made it to Andrea's house and entered the backyard where the party was being held. It looked amazing, everything was so glamorous and beautiful. I was still a bit upset that Declan didn't make it in time to escort me inside after I waited for him for twenty minutes. But I decided to not let that get to me, it was my best friend's birthday and I wanted to enjoy it with her and forget all about my mother, what she was planning on doing and the suspicious girl named Monica that was apparently a danger to us.

"You-look-gorgeous." I heard his voice from behind me say.

"You didn't think I was gonna let you walk in there alone did you?" He said as he came and gave me his arm and I took it as we walked down the steps of the back door and into the party.

Andrea and Evan were dancing. Lione was inhaling all the alcohol at the bar. Nina and Tristan were sitting at one of the round tables and talking it out about what happened earlier and it seemed that they had cleared everything out because I saw Tristan smiling.
Jordan and Aiden were talking to a guy from our school with drinks in their hands. Declan told me that Godric was not coming and I realized that only one person was missing.

"Where's Collin?" I asked out of curiosity.

"He's parking the car." Declan said.

"I'm right here." Collin said walking in behind us.

"Hey." I said greeting him with an awkward smile.

"I'm gonna go and join your uncle." He said with a sarcastic smile and walked away over to him.

Suddenly I remembered that I was keeping secrets from Declan and he was being so sweet to me. I was keeping from him the fact that I was drinking human blood behind his back rather than drinking animal blood like he was. For me. And the biggest one of all was the fact that I had kissed his brother yesterday before the encounter with my mother.

"May I have this dance?" He asked as the song 'Like I'm gonna lose you' came on.

"Why of course you may." I said and took his hand. He pulled me close to him, my body pressed against his, he put his other hand on my waist and we started swaying to the music.

He looked deep into my eyes and gave me one of his sweetest smirks that melted my heart.

"I love you, you know that right?" He said with a look of uncertainty on his face.

"Yes, I do, and I love you too." I said leaning in and placing a kiss on his lips. I forced my eyes closed and let out a sigh before I said. "Declan, I need to tell you something."

"What's that?" He said as he pulled away and twirled me around and then pulled me back to him.

"This is not easy to say so please don't interrupt me and just listen until the end. Collin has been bringing me human blood for the past few weeks. I can't drink animal blood Dec, I keep throwing up, feeling sick and weak and hungry all the time, and last night, before the incident in the woods, I um... We kissed." I said scared of what his actions are going to be.

A silence took over between us and he didn't say a word, he just kept swaying with me to the music and not saying anything.

"Declan? Please say something, anything." I almost begged him.

He let out a sigh and gave me a weak smile. "I know." He finally said.

"What?" I said raising my eyebrows at him.

He let out a laugh. "Mickayla, I know, I'm not stupid, my blood bags went missing, and I know he wasn't the one drinking them, because I drink A+ and he drinks B-, I guess B- didnt really work for you huh?! But about the kiss, that, I did not know."
