A Very Bad Day

ELENA

I opened the door to let Damon inside. We spent the night watching movies together. The last movie ended, so I went to walk him out. He grabbed my waist and kissed me. I ran my fingers down his perfectly shaped muscles. I ran my hand up to his well-defined jaw line. He pulled away and looked me in the eyes.

"Do you want to?" Damon asked me.

I nodded, and he brought me upstairs and moved to my bed. He set me on the bed as he took off his shirt. I closed my eyes and tilted my head back as he kissed my neck. I ran my fingers through his long, shoulder length, brown hair. I grabbed onto his body. His well-shaped body. I looked up expecting to see his hazel eyes, but there was one slight problem. Damon has short dark hair and blue eyes.

I pulled away in disgust at myself.

"Elena, what's wrong? We can slow down," Damon said with a concerned look on his face.

"Uhmm no Damon. It's me. I'm not feeling well right now," I said running my fingers through my hair.

"Do you need anything?" He asked.

"No I'll be fine. I just need some rest," I got up and walked him outside.

"Get better," he said hugging me.

"Thanks Damon," I said closing the door.

I fell to the floor and leaned up against the door. I lied my head in my hands. What was wrong with me?

-------------------

I woke up today with a horrible feeling.

I'm a horrible person. Damon... I have feelings for him, but I'm not giving him the attention he deserves.

There's a man that I want to be with, but it's forbidden. I can't ever be with him.

Damon is an amazing guy. He treats me exactly the way I want to be treated, but I can't be with someone while I have feelings for someone else.

--------------------

I got to school waiting for Damon to arrive. I needed to talk to him.

He arrived to school and grabbed his things from the car. I walked over to him with a sad expression.

"Elena, what's wrong? Are you feeling better?" He asked me.

I sighed and ran my fingers through my long brown hair.

"Look Damon," I started.

"Elena, I think we should break up," Damon said beating me to the point.

This wasn't how it was supposed to go.

"What?" I asked confused.

"I really like you, but we're drifting. We aren't as close as we were. Can I ask one question?" He asked me.

I nodded.

"Do you have feelings for someone else?" Damon looked upset.

"What? No. No Damon. Why would you ask me that?"

"Every time we're together, I notice that you're never paying attention to me. You're in some kind of daze," he said.

"Damon." I started to tear up.

"Hey, it's okay Elena. It wasn't meant to be, but if you really like him then you should tell him," Damon stoked my face with his thumb.

"It's not that easy" I told him.

"It may not be easy, but it's definitely worth it."

Damon had a point, but I couldn't ruin Sam's career like that.
