ELENA
I stepped up to this large tower in the center of New York City. Compared to this building, I was an ant. As I looked around, I saw people of every kind. I saw things I never knew were out there. Mystic Falls hid me from the world. In such a small town, I was never able to experience the real world. Now, I'm free from captivity, and I'm loving it.
I love being able to stay out however long I want to. I love not having to stress over homework. I love not being anywhere near my father. However, there's something missing from my life. Someone
I sighed and walked back to my motel room. It's been a week since I left, and I have yet to contact anyone. I may have overreacted, but I wasn't moving away to California and Sam wasn't going to get fired because of me. Dean has been checking in with me every couple of hours to make sure I'm surviving in the city. He dropped me off at my motel and stayed with me for a night before heading back to Mystic Falls. Yes, Dean promised me he wouldn't tell Sam. Just like me, Dean wants Sam to be happy. We don't want him to get fired from the one job he actually likes.
I was walking back to my motel enjoying the sounds of the cars and music on the streets. I loved everything about this city so far. It was beautiful. As I was admiring the city, I ran into something pretty hard. It was a skinny man about six foot. He turned and faced me angrily.
"Watch where you're going!" He yelled at me. I flinched back seeing my life before my eyes.
"I'm sorry sir!" I said as I held my hands up in defense. He snarled and started walking towards me. Fear became me. The man looked like he could tear me to pieces. He looked like he was going to. He stopped once he heard something.
"Rick!" The man yelled. "We got to go!"
The man, Rick, snapped his head back and walked away. He never took his hands out of his pockets. As soon as he turned the corner, I breathed a sigh of relief.
I ran back to my motel and lied on my bed. My heart continued to race out of my body. This near death experience wasn't helping. My bed calmed me down a lot. There was nothing that I missed more than my old bed though. The warmth the sheets had on my body was wonderful.
I slowly drifted off into a deep sleep.
DEAN
"Sammy, you should really get some sleep," I said to my brother. He took a swig of bourbon and stared me in the eyes.
"She left Dean. No note. No warning. Nothing," he sighed.
"Sam this isn't healthy," I said as I tried to take his bottle. He pulled it back and gave me a snarl.
"Get your own Dean," he yelled.
"Sam, you're drunk." I rubbed my temples out of frustration.
"Yeah... So?" I could tell he could barely form words
"She left me Dean. All by myself." I sighed and stared my brother in the eyes.
"I'm sure she has reasons," I reassured him.
"No Dean, this is different. She broke my heart," he pointed to his heart barely holding up his head.
"Let's get you to bed." I grabbed his huge body and brought him over to the bed. He lied on the bed lying on his stomach. As I went to give him a blanket, I saw a tear fall from Sam's eyes. "Goodnight Sammy." I sighed before walking over to his couch to lie down myself.
"So where to?" I asked Elena. She looked at me with confusion before her eyes became wide.
"New York," she said.
