SAM

Jess came into my dorm with a weird look on her face. I stared at her out of confusion and annoyance.

"What's that look for?" I asked her.

"I'm trying to figure you out," she sighed.

"Why?" I sat up in my chair ready to hear an explanation to this nonsense.

"Well, you were really nice and sweet when I met you. Now, you're rude and grumpy and you've been drinking a lot lately." I looked at the beer in my hand and shrugged.

"What's your point?" I asked her.

"My point is that you've changed ever since Dean started dating Elena," Jess told me.

I looked at her angrily.

"What?" I asked her.

"Are you in love with her or something?" She asked me sounding hurt.

"No, I don't love her," I took a sip of my beer and set it back down.

"But you don't love me either," she stated.

I stayed quiet looking at her sadly.

"Sam I can't do this," she told me.

"Jess," I sighed.

"No Sam. I can't compete with another woman," she looked at me with an upset look.

"You're not competing with her," I told her.

"Because she already won," Jess sighed.

I remained quiet as she continued to look at me.

"Don't do this to yourself Sam." I stared at her in confusion.

"Don't throw your life away over some girl. She's into your brother. You just need to get over that or you'll be miserable forever," she told me.

"Jess, don't go," I grabbed her wrist.

"Sam, I really hope everything works out for you, but I'm not going to sit here and watch you love someone else." She stepped out of my dorm and left me alone with my beer.

ELENA

I stood in the rain waiting for Dean to come get me. My car was stuck in the mud, and I needed someone to help. I stood there waiting when all of a sudden I saw a car approach me. The passenger side rolled down and a man called my name. I didn't know who it was, so I stepped backwards trying to get away slowly. That was when Sam came out of his car and looked at me weirdly.

"What are you doing?" He asked me.

"I-I thought you were a stranger," I told him. He chuckled and looked me in the eyes.

"Dean told me to come pick you up. He got a flat, so he couldn't get to you in time."

I looked at Sam questioning him. Then I realized it was either go with Sam or be stuck in the rain for hours. I chose door one.

We started driving to Sam's dorm. It was extremely awkward and quiet. We both went to go reach for the air button at the same time and slightly touched each other's hands pulling back quickly.

"Sorry," I told him.

"For what Elena? You were cold," he laughed.

"Not about the air, but about everything."

He remained quiet and kept his focus on the road.

"You know, he really likes you," Sam said breaking the silence.

I looked over in his direction giving him a puzzling look.

"Dean, he really likes you."

"Well I'd hope so," I said laughing. "We're kind of dating."

"No, I know. It's just that I don't know if I can take it anymore Elena," Sam said still keeping his eyes on the road.

"Take what Sam?" I asked him confused.

He started to pull over to the side of the road.

"Sam? What are you doing?" I asked him.

He put his car in park and started to get out of his car. The rain instantly soaked his clothing and made his muscles show even more. I got out of the car and started to walk towards him. The road was completely empty.

"Sam, what the hell?" I yelled to him.

"Not now Elena!" He yelled.

"Yes now Sam! I'm soaking wet and grumpy. Can you please tell me what's going on?" I asked.

"Elena I can't!" He yelled angrily.

"What can't you do?" I asked him.

The rain kept falling faster and faster. It started to soak through our clothes and run down our face. My hair was soaked as well. It stuck to my cheeks.

"Elena, I can't sit here and pretend to like my brother's girlfriend. I can't stand here in front of my brother's girlfriend and like her because the truth is that I don't like her. Elena, I don't like you... I love you! Okay! I love you Elena! And loving you is the hardest thing I've ever done! Dean likes you Elena. He really does, and I can't handle it. I can't take it anymore. I can't handle wanting to be with the one who's with my brother. And I'm not that kind of brother to ruin his happiness," Sam told me.

"Sam," I started.

"Just get in the car," he said as he started walking towards it.

"Sam listen," I said.

"No Elena! Just get in the car," he said.

The car ride was extremely silent. I wasn't prepared for what I was going to do tonight, but by the time we got back to the dorms, I had a phone call to make.

"Hello?" The voice answered.

"Hey Dean," I said.

"Lena hey! Where are you?" He asked me.

"I'm in Sam's dorm. Hey Dean? There's something I want to talk to you about," I said.

"Yeah, of course. Is everything alright?" He asked me.

"Yeah! Everything is fine, it's just... I need to talk to you about Sam."

I heard nothing but quiet.

"Yeah, how about tonight?" He asked me.

"Perfect," I said sighing.

"Alright, see you then." Dean hung up the phone, and I remained quiet as I watched Sam clean up his dorm. This was going to be an interesting conversation.
