Inspired by the poem "Nothing Gold Can Stay" by Robert Frost and the song "Red" by Taylor Swift
Love was red and bright and new,
Its color blinded me.
It turned my whole life upside down.
A rainbow I could see.My days were filled with yellow suns
And vibrant flowers pink.
Your arms were warm and felt like home
And in them, I would sink. But then came she, with golden hair,
The source of my envy.
You and she, and she and you,
It left me seeing green. The colors swirled and mixed and changed,
A blur before my eyes,
But soon enough, the red is gone.
And then, the rainbow dies.So you were gone, I was alone,
And then my world was gray.
I was blue and you were gold
And nothing gold can stay.© 2015
