Just One Life

A song

Our days are numbered,
And many gone.
And now I'm standing
On the edge of what's beyond.

I face the future
With shaking hands.
I carry with me,
Just dreams and half-baked plans.

And all around me,
Are painted smiles.
A field of handshakes,
Goes on and on for miles.

But nobody asks:
Do you like who you're becoming?
Nobody cares
If you like the path you take.

And maybe I'm afraid because I don't feel like I'm ready.
Maybe I'm just waiting for my story to begin.
Maybe I'm just looking for something extrordinary,
Or maybe I'm afraid cause I've got just one life to live.

Maybe I'm afraid cause I've got just one life to live.

The great unknown
Can't be so great
If what you love
Isn't what awaits.

And so I ask:
Do you like who you're becoming?
I ask:
Do you love the path you take?

Do you like who you're becoming?
Cause you've got just one life to live.
