James' POV*
I woke up to a scent of cookies. I smiled and tried to stretch my arms, but I couldn't. They were trapped by something.

I opened my eyes to see Aleks laying beside me, his bandaged arm around my waist. Then all of it hit me, what had happened the day before. He was still smiling like he was last night, and his breathing was more regular. I smiled at him and tried to get up. I sat up and his arm slid off of my waist, flopping back onto the bed, making him groan, his face etched with pain. Shit.

I scooted back up to his arm and rubbed it. I got my pillow, and sat it under his arm. I sat on his bed for a few minutes, rubbing his back, trying to comfort him. I eventually got up and went downstairs into the kitchen. I could really use some of Aleks' famous scrambled eggs right now.

I looked over to the stove clock. 7:13am. Well that explains why no one is up yet. It's too damn early! I suddenly felt a lot more tired than I was just a few minutes ago. I walked back upstairs and into my room. I laid down on my bed, but it didn't feel right. It felt to cold, to empty.

I slowly got back up and went back into Aleks' room. I closed his door and laid on his bed next to him. He was now laying on his back. Good, he's still able to move. I moved his arm so it was on his stomach. I grabbed my pillow, fluffed it, and laid on it. I grabbed some of the covers since he had moved off of them and covered myself up. I scooted closer to Aleks so I could feel his presence.

I felt better with Aleks around me. I took one last look at him. His brunette hair was in his eyes, he was still smiling, and his tattooed arm was resting on his white t-shirt, his hand gripping the collar of it. I smiled at his appearance and turned back around. I had almost fallen back asleep when I head a faint whisper.
"James," Aleks whispered faintly. That was the last thing I heard before the darkness took me.

I woke up to someone shaking me. Was Aleks finally awake? I opened my eyes slowly, sleep still infesting my eyes. My vision was blurry, but I rubbed my eyes. I saw someone standing beside me. Of course it isn't Aleks.

Eddie was standing there, but something didn't feel right. He wasn't smiling. That's weird, Eddie is always smiling, no matter what the situation is. He gave me a faint smile and took in a deep breath.
"Hey James. It's 12:02. The guy from yesterday might be coming in a few. I just wanted to get you up in case he comes soon," he said, with a slight sad tone in his voice.

I nodded at him.
"Thanks. I'll be out there in a few." He nodded and left the room. I laid on my back and stared at the ceiling. I though of a lot of things, the Purge, my friends, Aleks. I looked over towards him. He was still sleeping. To be honest, I didn't know if he was going to wake up, he could be in a coma for all I know. Stupid blood loss. Why did that guy even have to do that anyway?

I wanted to stay in bed, not because I was tired, I wanted to see if Aleks would wake up. I needed to see those dark brown eyes to remind me of him. I have to get up. That idiot is coming soon. I slowly sat up, not wanting to disturb Aleks, and got out of the bed.

Chills spread across my body.
"Damn Aleks. How can you sleep in this cold room?" I whispered. I knew he couldn't hear me, but I didn't care. I walked out of Aleks' room, taking one last glance of him before leaving, and went into my room. I took off dirty shirt and put a clean one on. I changed out of my pants and put on clean cargo shorts.

I walked out of my room and went downstairs. I went into the living room to see the man in the suit already there. He had his briefcase at his side and a stern look on his face. Fucking government. I walked over to where Jordan and Dan stood. Dan gave me a smile and sat down on couch.

"Hello everyone. This is the last time I'll be visiting you. I am here to give you all a shot of the Liquid Tracker," the man said. Jordan gave me an uneasy look, I just returned the look. The man looked around, as of looking for something.
"Where is the other boy?" He asked. Is he talking about Aleks? I stepped up.
"Are you talking about the boy who got his arm cut open?" I asked him sternly.

He back up a few steps, a gulp coming from his throat. I clenched my fist in anger. He's tall, but I can tell he's weak.
"Yes, that one," he said more quieter. I felt like I was going to break my own hands.
"He's upstairs, still sleeping from when he passed out yesterday. And I don't know IF HE IS EVER GOING TO FUCKING WAKE UP!" I yelled at him, making everyone stare at me.

"No one knows if he is in a coma or not. He should have been awake by now. And since the Purge is in 6 days, I have no one. THANKS TO YOU!" I punched him hard in the chest, making him stumble back a little. The guys tried to pull me away from him, but I didn't budge.

I walked up to him again, but now i was in his face.
"He is my best friend dammit! Why did you have to do that? Why?" I said, I felt tears forming in my eyes. I put my fist up, ready to punch him in the face. But something stopped me.

A hand held my arm and wouldn't let go. However much I tried to go against its force, it was stronger. I looked back and saw Aleks standing behind me. What the fuck? I stood there, half crying and half amazed. He just smiled and I engulfed him into a hug. I was crying into his shirt.

"I thought you would never wake up," I said sniffling. I felt something wet hit my shoulder. He was crying too.
"I'll always come back James. Your the one who woke me up," he said laughing. I pulled away from him.
"What do you mean?" I gave him a confused look. He just smiled.

"I had a weird dream. I can't remember it a lot but it was just you. You were saying things to me, telling me to wake up, saying that you miss me, stuff like that. I finally tried to open my eyes, and I saw you standing beside me. It was weird though. I was in my room  laying on my bed, like you could see me, but you couldn't see me looking at you. You seemed sad so I tried to ask you what was wrong, but nothing came out. Then I closed my eyes again and everything just woke up in my mind. You helped me wake up James," he explained. He smiled and I smiled back.

I hugged him again. I felt better, knowing that he dreamt of me saying things that I actually said to him while he was sleeping.

I'm glad to know that I was the one to wake him up. I missed him, but now he is here by me again, so I don't have to miss him anymore.
