The Beginning of The End ( NovaHD )

Chapter 1

Aleks' POV*
I never thought this would of came. It all started as a movie, but somehow it became reality. The Purge was coming upon us, and I wasn't even ready in the slightest for what was about to come.

When we first heard about the Purge it was like any regular old day. Everyone was at the Creature House recording videos, watching movies in the basement, cooking lunch, normal stuff like that. That's when we heard Jordan. "Um... Guys? Could you come here for a minute? Something is happening," he said so everyone could hear him.

Everyone came into the living room, complaining about making them have to pause recordings and missing their movie. Of course, James was the grumpiest.

"What the hell Hordan? I can't even take a nap without you calling everyone on for a group meeting! I have dreams about that shit sometimes!" He yelled making me laugh. James always made me laugh no matter what he did or how mad I was at him, I could never stay mad. He made my days better.

"James this is serious. I don't know what is happening but... j-j-just look!" Jordan said, stuttering at his words while pointing at the tv. We looked at the tv and and there was a lady with a mask on behind a desk with papers in front of her.

"Well that's professional," Seamus said with a hint in his voice that made me smile. James laughed too. Jordan shushed everyone as she began to speak but with not a regular voice. A voice changer?

"Good evening everyone. This is a worldwide broadcast that will be shown everyday on every channel from this day forward. It will even show on your phones." To curious, I took out my phone to see the lady with the mask on my screen. I had not even turned my phone on that day. I looked over to James and he has his phone out too. He looked at me with surprise in his eyes and he showed me his phone. The lady was on his phone too.
"Witchcraft," he whispered to me and I just laughed. My attention was snapped back to the tv when the lady started talking again.

"You all just probably took your phones out to check if I was there," I looked back at James. He gave me a look that said 'See? It is witchcraft!' I smiled at that and turned my attention back to the tv.

"In about 1 month exactly, there will be an event. This event will last 6 months. In this event, laws do not exist. No emergency services will be available within that time. All crimes including murder will be legal for that 6 month period. There are a few rules which I will go over in the next few days to prepare you for this event. Some might call it a battle, but we like to call it The Purge," she said which gave me the chills.

"You might have heard of the movie. It's just like that except a longer period of time. We will broadcast this everyday around 2pm so don't miss it. We will go over a lot in a day period. The government thanks you for your time. Have a great day," the lady said before our tv shut off.

I was frozen, I couldn't move. Was this really happening? I felt someone shake me. I looked over to see James with worry in his eyes.
"Are you alright man? We don't need to worry. We have a month!" He said.

When I look into his eyes, very thing feels better. Those dark brown eyes could make a cloudy day the sunniest day in two seconds. He always made be feel better so I smiled. He smiled back and sat down on the couch.

Jordan, Seamus, Dan, and Eddie were talking in a group. I didn't want to talk about the Purge right now so I went to my room and shut the door. In a month, the Purge was going to happen. A lot of people would die, even my friends. I thought to myself for awhile and found myself crying.

That's when I heard a knock on the door.
"Yeah?" I answered, wiping my tears away. The door has opened to find James on the other side, his face wet with tears as well.
"James are you ok?" I asked. He just came up to me and gave me a hug. I didn't know what to do so I hugged him back.

"I don't know what to do Aleksandr, I don't know what to do,"he whispered into my jacket.
"I don't want to die, I don't want anyone to die. I don't want you to die," he said making me shutter, thinking about a world without James. I pulled him from the hug and looked him in the eyes. It's impossible.

"Don't worry about it right now. Just focus on what's happening now. We will figure it out. But for now just go make me a taco or something, I'm hungry," I said which made him smile.

He patted my shoulder and said, "Thanks Aleksandr. You always make me forget the worst things."He walked out of my room and down into the kitchen. I didn't know how to react to what he just said so I started making my way downstairs to help him make my taco I wanted.

I just wanted him to be as happy for as long as he could be before the time comes, before the day of the Purge comes.
