*Brett's POV*
I nodded.
Liam wanted me gone, so that's exactly what I would do. I put a shirt on quickly, then grabbed my phone. I walked towards the door and looked back at him. He was standing next to his bed, waiting. I smiled. It wasn't a big smile, but it was there.I knew that this would blow over soon enough, and I would have Liam. I just don't know how he feels about me. And that's what I need to find out.
"Bye, Liam," I said and shut the door behind me.
--
When I got home, Satomi was sitting across from my dad. They were talking about something, but I didn't care to listen.
"Oh, Brett. There you are, we've called you at least twenty times!" My dad said. Satomi nodded in agreement with him.
"My phone was dead, sorry," I said as I looked down at my shoes and back up at them.
"Well, we need to talk to you. C'mere," he said. I sighed quietly and waked over to them, sitting next to Satomi.
"Where were you last night?" My dad asked.
"With a friend."
"Was it that boy?"
"What boy?" I asked.
"Liam Dunbar," Satomi said.
She looked to my dad.
"He's a werewolf, you know," she said as if it were a question to both of us."He could be dangerous," my dad said.
I rolled my eyes.
"Dad, I'm like him. Am I dangerous? No," I said.Satomi nodded. "Just be careful, Brett."
I took this as my dismissal and left the kitchen.
My room was just how I left it, and right now my bed looked nicer than ever. I was so tired that I decided to go to sleep again.--
When I woke up, my phone was ringing. I looked to see who was calling me.
Liam.
I clicked the green phone and brought it to my ear.
"Hey," I heard over the line. He sounded tired.
"Hey," I repeated.
Then there was a small silence."Can you meet me at Coffee Brewers?" He asked.
"Yeah, what time?" I asked him.
There was a small pause again."How about now?" Liam asked.
I nodded, but remembered he wouldn't hear that."Uh-yeah, I'll be there soon," I said.
"Alright," he said, then hung up.
I sighed.
"Bye."I put on dark jeans and a Beacon Hills hoodie.
Why would Liam want to see me?
I grabbed my phone and put it in my pocket, then ran downstairs and told Satomi where I'd be. My dad must've already left.
"With Liam?" She asked.
Satomi was like a grandmother to me. She was so wise, and could figure out anything . Her being my alpha, she knows nearly everything about me.
"Uh, yeah," I said. She nodded.
"Have fun," Satomi said and I smiled before heading out the door.--
When I got there, I saw Liam sitting in a table by the window.
Oh god, he looks great.
I shrugged the thought away and walked in. He was playing with his thumbs, probably thinking about what to say. At least I wouldn't be the only one.
I walked up to him.
"Is this seat taken?" I asked sarcastically. He let out a weak smile.
"I'm currently waiting for an idiot, but you can sit here until he gets here," Liam said. I grinned."Alright, what is it?" Liam asked.
I was confused."What's what?" I asked.
"The reason you've been so distant," Liam said as if it were obvious. It probably was.
"I don't know, it's just.. what happened," I said.
"The.." he started.
I nodded. I knew he was already talking about the kiss."Well.. did you feel anything?" Liam asked.
Control your heartbeat.
"No," I said.
*Liam's POV*
Ouch.
That hurt."Did you?" He asked.
"No. Glad we're on the same subject," I lied.
"Me too," Brett said, nodding.
A girl wearing a Coffee Brewer shirt came over to our table. She smiled to Brett and I before speaking.
"Could I get you guys anything?" She asked.
"Could I actually get a caramel creamed coffee?" Brett asked. She nodded and wrote it down.
"For you?" She said, looking up.
"Uh- I'll go with the same," I said.
I looked over at Brett, who was staring at her.
"Anything else for you?" She said, talking to both of us, but looking at Brett."That's it for now, thanks.. Kara," Brett smiled, looking up from her name tag.
She blushed.
Oh please.
"So, where were we?" Brett asked me.
