Liam got a ride from Stiles and was the only one at the house when he got home. His younger sister, Abby, would be home in 30 minutes, so this is usually the time he eats and does his homework.

His mom would be working at the bank right now and his step-dad would be busy at the hospital.

A few minutes after Liam finished his biology homework, Abby came through the door.

"Hey Abby," Liam would say as he'd pick her up and take her into his arms and she'd let out her signature giggle.

"How was your day?" Liam asked.

"Boring," Abby said with a snore (for effect).
Liam laughed and went to make her an afternoon snack.

"You get on that homework now so you can watch a movie later, okay?" Liam would say, and Abby would always listen and pull out her papers.

"I'll be back in a few minutes, I just have to do something," Liam said once he handed her apples and peanut butter.

Abby nodded and Liam ran up the stairs.

While Liam was upstairs, Abby heard a knock on the door. She knew she wasn't supposed to answer the door without Liam in the room, but she walked over to the door and peeked through the curtains. Once she saw who was at the door, she decided to open it.

"Can I help you?" Abby asked, sweetly.

The older boy smiled.
"Yeah, I'm a friend of Liam's. Is he here?" He asked. Abby nodded and called Liam down.

The beta came down the stairs and Abby brought Liam to the door.

"Oh, thanks for answering, Abby. Go finish up your homework though," Liam patted her back as she turned back to the table in the living room.

"I'll be right outside the door," Liam told Abby as he shut the door behind him.

"What the hell, Brett?" Liam asked.
He was annoyed and didn't
want Brett anywhere near him.

"I'm just here to hangout," Brett said.
Liam rolled his eyes.

"Do you not remember why I left Devenford Prep?" Liam asked.

Brett nodded.
"I want to put that in our past. Can you please just forget about it?" He asked.

"Me? You got me kicked out of there. You got so mad at me that you gave me a concussion at a lacrosse game!" Liam argued.

"I know, I know. It was a mistake though. Can't we just go back to how it use to be?" Brett begged.

Liam rolled his eyes.
"I cannot believe you, Brett," he said.

Brett looked at his shoes, avoiding eye contact.

"Get inside," Liam said, opening the front door.
Brett did as he was told and the two of them walked into the living room to greet Abby.

"Abs, this is my.. friend, Brett," Liam said.
Abby looked up from her homework and mumbled a "hi".

"We'll be upstairs, call me down if you need anything," Liam said as he headed up to his room with Brett following.

"So.. friend, aye?" Brett wiggled his eyebrows.

Liam shrugged.
"Didn't know what else to call you I guess," he answered.

Brett nodded.
"So, we're friends?" he asked.

Liam shrugged again.
"I guess," he said.

Brett looked around Liam's room. It was a mocha colored wall covered with posters of bands and sports teams. His bed was a queen with blue blankets and black pillows.
His closet was shut and the desk in the corner had nothing on it.

"It's been a while," Brett said as he finished examining Liam's room.

What he meant by that was that they use to be really close friends. After the car incident, they hated each other. And now, they're here.. wherever that stage is.

"So, what do you wanna do?" Liam asked awkwardly.

Brett jumped onto the bed and faced the TV hanging from the wall.

"You should make popcorn," Brett suggested as he looked through the pile of movies Liam had on a shelf.

Liam nodded and walked downstairs.

"Hey Abs, you need anything?" He asked as he grabbed popcorn from the drawer.

"No thanks," she said as she continued to watch whatever was on TV. Pretty sure it was The Walking Dead or Izombie, something like that.

After the popcorn was ready, Liam put it in a bowl and ran back upstairs to see Brett putting in a disc.

"What movie?" Liam asked.

"The Town that Dreaded Sundown," Brett grinned.

Liam shook his head.
"Mom doesn't let me watch R-movies," he said, followed by a laugh.

Brett gave Liam a playful punch and sat back down onto the bed, Liam following.

The movie began and Liam already got scared.

"This isn't even a mildly-scary part," Brett laughed.

"Yes it is," Liam said, half covering his eyes.

"Ah!" Liam screamed and hid under the blanket when the man in the mask appeared in the woods.

After Liam being under the blanket for a bit more than a few seconds, Brett went under the blanket also.

"Having fun in here?" Brett asked.
Liam nodded, opening his eyes.

"It wasn't that scary, Liam. Don't worry," Brett said as he lifted the blanket off both of them.

"Wanna turn it off?" Brett offered.
Liam shrugged, and Brett took that as a "yes".

"Wanna do anything else? My mom won't be home for another few hours," Liam said.

Brett wiggled his eyebrows.
Liam rolled his eyes and let out a small laugh.

"Like, something downstairs," Liam said.

"Oh, sure," Brett laughed it off.

The boys headed downstairs to find Liam's mom already home.

"Go!" Liam signaled with his mouth, shoeing Brett back upstairs.

"Liam? Who's your friend?" She asked.

Liam laughed.
"What friend? I don't have a friend. Or any friends," Liam insisted.

"Hun, c'mon, I saw someone. Why don't they come down here so I can meet him," Liam's mom said.

"It's Mason, Mom. No need to meet him again," Liam laughed and ran back upstairs.

Liam's mom wouldn't approve of Brett being here ever since the lacrosse game last year.

"Oh, okay. You guys have fun. I'll make dinner," she said.
