CHAPTER FIVE - BACK TO REALITY

Evelyn's P.O.V.

"Buenos dias Melita. What's for breakfast?", I asked her trying to be cheerful.

"Buenos dias mia Evey. I make'd the chocolate warfles you tell that you like.", she said handing me a plate full of lovely chocolate goodness.

"Mel, they're called waffles not warfles!", I exclaimed, not a bit surprised.

"What to do dear? These English words...are very...what you say...hard.", she said with a sigh.

"Aw, don't you worry. Krissy will be coming home from now onwards. You can continue with your tuitions or what you call, 'enseñanza'", I assured her and with that, headed to the dining table.

I don't usually eat at the dining table. My room is a much more suited place for such a sort of thing. However, since today is going to be my first day of actually attending a school, not only a school but a High School, I'll try to have a little bit of an etiquette. I've been tutored at home ever since the age of four.

My parents were too scared to send me to a public school. They always told me that ever since I was born, danger had been looming around me, waiting for the right time to strike. Not sure what they meant by that but now, I wanted to join an actual school.

I would turn sixteen in a month's time so they gave me an early present.

Even though it was what I had wished for, I was still scared and nervous. I mean,
What if they think I look like a kid?
What if they bully me?
What if I become everyone's enemy?
What if everyone hates me as soon as they see me?
What if...

"Evey dear, the car will pick you up in twenty minutes. Get ready or you will be late." Melita reminded me.

"Alright. Thanks.", I replied.

I finished having a breakfast of heavenly goodness and skipped upstairs to my room.

I quickly took a cold shower and got out and started drying my hair. My hair had always been naturally straight, so I didn't bother much about a hairstyle.

I applied a 'natural beige' foundation, tinted my lips with a rosy colour and brushed through my brows. My mom's utmost importance was always her eyebrows.

I looked at my 5"8 tall, skinny figure in the body-length mirror, my body still clothed with my white bath towel. I had a little bit of curves so I put on a white tank top and skinny jeans. It looked plain so I added a light pink crop top.

I pinned my brownish, burgundy-coloured hair at the back and pulled it all to the left side.

"Evey! The car's here.", Melita informed me from downstairs.

Just in time!

I grabbed the tiny, floral-patterned backpack and hurried downstairs.

The car stopped once it entered the school's parking lot. I got out of the car and thanked the driver. He was new, again. I get new drivers every month because of the 'danger' my parents are scared of.

I walked a few more steps till I reached a huge board which had the words 'Silberston Academy' and with their motto " fortis est veritas" engraved on it in golden.

It looked really classy, a two storey building with greenery surrounding it.

"Hey! Finally! I thought you backed out after that crazy rant you gave me last night but I guess my talk helped huh.", Krissy bumped my shoulder, looking happy.
