Chapter Nine - All About That Base.

"Okay, it crowded. Let's go back.", I said, looking the mass amounts of people at the rink.

We were at the Streatham Ice Rink.

"Seriously? No way. I don't want you to go hom...", He trailed off, realizing what he was going to say.

"O..Okay but I will have to go back at some time.", I was taken aback in surprise.

"Sure.", he replied. "Two tickets for the lady and me.", he told the guy at the ticket booth.

I took out the money for my ticket and tapped James on his shoulder to give it to him.

"It's fine. I have the money.", James turns to me and then pays the guy in the ticket booth.

Once he had got the tickets and we had entered the indoor area, I still prompted him to take the money.

"I just don't want to feel like I owe you something later.", I reasoned.

"Fine.", he smiled and just took the money, putting it in his pocket.

"What is your shoe size?", James asked and turned to guy behind the counter.

"39, I think. No wait, 40.", I said sheepishly.

"Ooh you know what they say about women with big feet.", he commented with a smirk.

"Not really and I don't want to be enlightened. I'd rather keep my innocence intact.", I said before he could explain the phrase to me, knowing it held some kind of hidden meaning.

Oh shut up already!

It took me a while to tie the laces on such big shoes, maybe five minutes.

"Here."

James bent down to help me and I kind of needed it because all I had done was tie a really loose and bad knot.

He ran his hand through his hair, slightly frustrated because he couldn't untangle the knot.

What the heck am I doing? Stop staring at him, weirdo!

"There. Done.", he stood up and put his hands up in victory.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Okay, the ice was slippery was an understatement.
I had spent the last half an hour scaring the shit out of James because I had forgotten how to skate.
I hadn't gone skating since I was ten and I kind of forgot to mention it to him.
"Forgot to mention it?! You have got to be kidding me!", he exclaimed, looking horrified.
"Why?", I asked, acting like a little puppy.
"I don't know how to skate properly either, that's why!", and then boom, my brain exploded.
And James slipped and tried to catch me by my wrist but instead, caught my waist and he ended up carrying me up slightly while I was flaying my hands around like a crazy person who couldn't even scream.
He fell on his butt and I fell on top of him in the most awkward way ever possible.
Our faces were at such a close distance and when I noticed him slowly lick his flushed, pink lips, I had it.
I slid off him and tried to stand and steady myself.
"Caught you."
"Thanks", I smiled.
