Tony Stark flew the quinjet in to the docking area on the helicarrier of Shield. Nick Fury and Bruce Banner were waiting for them. The avengers exited the plane one by one, Hawkeye holding his side in pain. Natasha and Captain America had woken up on the flight and were groggily leaving the plane, holding their heads. Tony Stark left the plane last, carrying the little girl in his red and gold armoured arms. Nick Fury smiled as the unconscious girl came in to sight.
" It looks like you did it," Nick Fury commented with a smile.
" I can't believe you!" Thor snapped angrily.
He stormed inside with a glint of anger in his stormy eyes.
" What's got him so riled up?" Bruce asked in surprise.
Tony uncovered the face of Alex and Bruce sucked in a breath.
" No way! We can't imprison a child," Bruce said with wide eyes.
" In this situation it is very necessary. What do you think she's going to do when she awakes? I doubt that you're her favourite people right now," Nick rebuked with a flare of annoyance.
" Only because we almost killed her and killed her sister in the act of doing that!" Tony yelled, his temper flaring.
Nick stalked forward and grabbed the girl from Tony's arms.
" I can't trust you to do what's necessary in this mission! Take a break until this is done," Fury growled.
He carried the tiny girl inside and through the various corridors. He knew that this was what had to be done, any regret had been pushed to the back of his mind. They couldn't have an uncontrollable power just running the streets! Doctor Banner had followed him in as it was his job to make sure this girl could be controlled. He put the girl down on the medical table in the lab, roughly dumping her. He grabbed the metal restrainers and clipped her in so she couldn't move if she happened to awake. He left the room and went to get himself a coffee and file a mission report for the files.
" This is wrong," Bruce muttered.
He set up his computer to make sure she was okay. Her heartbeat was strong but she was weak. He put on gloves and started to clean her wounds, sapping at them cautiously. He hoped Fury wouldn't care if she was healthy and safe. He managed to bandage her up so that the arrow wound would heal properly. With a nervous twitch he decided he had to use Tony's new tech which allowed him to know what the enemy was thinking, he placed the small machine on her forehead and started it up. He had to make sure that she wasn't hurt on the inside. He pressed the button on his computer and he saw darkness on the screen. It was black but he could see someone standing there. It was her, Alex. This was bizarre, what was happening? Alex turned and saw him.
" What are you doing here?" She asked in surprise and caution.
Bruce didn't know if he could actually communicate over the computer but it was worth a shot.
" I was running some tests to make sure you didn't hurt your head and I ended up here," Bruce stuttered.
" You can't be here Bruce Banner. This isn't your mind, what gives you the right to see what I'm thinking, what I'm feeling. I'm the guard here while my physical self is indisposed, I make sure nosy people like you don't get past," Alex inquired icily.
" It's just your mind, it won't hurt me, what are you so afraid of?" He asked curiously.
" I'm not afraid, I'm cautious. You shouldn't go past this point unless you have a death wish Bruce. It's not somewhere people can just go, whether your intentions are good or not. I'm trying to protect your sanity and your life by warning you now," Alex commented.
" This, what we are doing now, could change the world. You are truly powerful if you can control a conversation in your mind while being unconscious and badly hurt. I need to know more, I'm a scientist, what do you expect?" Bruce asked excitedly.
" I expect you of all people to know how  I feel when people are literally trying to find out what I'm thinking and most of all, trying to control me," Alex growled with a raised eyebrow.
" I get what you're saying Alex, but I need to know more about your mind if it's this spectacular," Bruce countered.
" Oh no you don't! You're just trying to control me, to use my mind and my body for your own use. Lock me away for eternity. Control me. This is why I was locked in that wretched cooling chamber, because Fury wanted to keep me a secret, to make sure I didn't go rogue or worse, evil. Tell me one thing that Shield and the avengers haven't taken from me," Alex snapped.
" Your body," Bruce came up with.
" And yet you are trying to take that now, at this very minute. There is another who is trying to take me as we speak. I can't believe I trusted you enough to talk to you! You are trying to keep my as your little pet,but you can't!" Alex yelled in sudden fury.
" What do you mean?" Bruce asked in surprise.
" I mean, you've been distracting me while one of your friends tries to keep me down," Alex yelled in absolute anger.
" Is there anything else you'd like to take from me? You've already destroyed everything I love, why not take what's left?" Alex snapped.
" What?" Bruce asked.
" GET OUT OF MY HEAD!" She shrieked.
Her yell was so loud that it sent Bruce stumbling backwards. He shook his head and he was back in the lab. He looked around wildly and spotted a young Shield agent tampering with some of his equipment that was connecting to her heart.
" What are you doing? You're going to kill her!" Bruce yelled as he flung himself on the younger guy.
A loud and repetitive beeping made him look over to his heart monitor. Alex's heart was going really I fast and her body twitched. He stood up and checked her pulse, she was definitely not okay. Suddenly her eyes snapped open, their yellow colouring showing up brightly in the light. She struggled against the metal restrainers, whipping back and forth to try and escape.
" Let me go!" Alex cried.
Bruce scampered around the table to her head.
" Hey, Alex, calm down kid, you're going to kill yourself!" Bruce ordered.
Alex didn't listen and kept struggling. Bruce held her shoulders firmly down and in the one place. There was a wild look in her eyes, a look that suggested that she would love to get her hands on someone so she could wreak havoc. She wasn't safe, not in this state.
" Calm down!" He barked.
" GET OUT OF MY HEAD!" She yelled again. Bruce suddenly realised that the machine was still on her forehead. Quickly he removed it and instantly she calmed down and started to sleep again, her heart monitor was normal again. Bruce knew that he couldn't hold her down easily, she needed to get somewhere where she couldn't hurt herself. She had to go to her prison cell, where she would be safe from harm and safe from harming others. He looked sternly at the young agent.
" Tell Fury that she needs to move to her cell, immediately," Bruce ordered.
He dreaded to think what might have happens if she had been free. She could've killed everyone, he now knew what the others had been talking about, it wasn't safe for her to be on her own at the moment. She obviously hated to be controlled, just like himself in some ways. He lifted her off the table and raced down to the specially made cell.
This kid had to be restrained before she accidentally did something terrible!
