Alex grumbled quietly to herself, she was sick and tired of this cell, if she started in there any longer she'd die of boredom. The avengers had all gone on a mission, so had Nick Fury. No one would come and talk to her, they had no prisoners to annoy her, at least annoying her kept her mind off anything but how bored she was. Stifling a yawn she lay on her back, staring at the ceiling, nothing else was there to do. The wolf had gone completely silent, so the one time she wanted the wolf she wasn't there. With a groan of annoyance she heard the sound of footsteps tentatively stepping towards her. There was a young agent who had tried to deliver food to her for a while, she had always turned him down, saying that she was vegetarian, since he always brought beef and vegetables, and that he was absolutely petrified of her. He would often try and run if she looked directly at him.
" Look! How many times do I have to tell you that I am a vegetarian!" Alex exclaimed as she sat up suddenly.
The agent wasn't there, the only one there was Bruce Banner.
" I actually didn't know that," Bruce laughed.
" Oh, I didn't know it was you. What are you doing back?" Alex asked.
" It turned out to be a diplomatic mission and they thought I should head back early, I've been told that I have a temper," Bruce joked good-naturedly.
" Well, I could actually use your help with something. You obviously saw what happened in the full moon incident. I've figured out what happened and want to know if I can talk to you about something," Alex asked.
" Of course you may, what's troubling you?" Banner asked.
" I've been having nightmares, visions," Alex stammered.
" What about?" Banner wondered.
" The wolf, there's a wolf who's voice is troubling me, it's talking to me in visions and nightmares and I was hoping you could help me figure out what she wants. I need you to talk to her," Alex pleaded.
Banner blinked at her in surprise, what was this wolf doing talking to a little girl.
" Okay, I'll do it and I think I know how. I want to use the same equipment I tried to use when you got here," Bruce suggested.
" That equipment made an experience that could have killed you, do you really want to do it again?" Alex asked solemnly.
" I modified it actually, it won't kill me because I can talk to your conscience, as weird as it sounds, and she'll let me know if I'm in danger," Bruce assured her.

" Okay, just lie back and sleep, I'll wait until you're sleeping and then put my theory to work. When you wake up in the morning I'll hopefully have some information for you," Bruce advised.
Alex nodded and lay down on the floor of her cell, closing her eyes and shifting until she was comfortable. She lay on her side, opening her eyes once but then closing them again. Bruce Banner sat beside her, waiting for her to sleep. Soon her breathing became deep and steady, she was deeply asleep. Bruce left her for a few minutes to make sure she was definitely asleep and then crept silently over to her. He gently took off his jacket and put it under her head. She slept on, oblivious to him. He knew that she wouldn't have slept knowing what was going to happen. She'd agreed to leave her weapons in his lab so that if she did wake up she wouldn't have him to pieces in sheer surprise. It'd happened before, she'd awoken without expecting too and almost decapitated an agent. Soon she was definitely sleeping as deeply as she would all night and he took action. Slowly he took out the new and improved machine and placed it on her forehead. She murmured in her sleep, her face creased in fear but concentration. He realised that she was having another nightmare. This was the time to use the machine. Pulling out his iPad he saw in to her mind.
" So you're back again," Alex laughed.
Her conscience had yet again taken the form of herself so she could speak to him. She was looking at him with one eyebrow raised, clearly waiting for an explanation.
" Yes, you asked me to find out about the wolf," Banner answered.
" Oh that wolf, yes I know what your talking about. That wolf is always trying to take over, she's he most annoying being ever!" Alex's conscience said with a huff of annoyance.
" So you know her?" Bruce asked hopefully.
" I can do you one better than that, I am her," Alex's conscience answered with a mischievous grin.
She leaped forward and turned in to a black wolf midair. She landed beside him with a wolffish smile on her canine face.
" Who are you?" Banner asked tentatively.
" I'm the one who has been trying to get Alex out of that stupid cell since she got here," the wolf answered angrily.
Banner looked past the wolf and saw a small Alex, her real conscience, tied up and twisting around on the ground.
" What did you do to her?" He asked shakily.
" She kept trying to stop me so I tied her up, now I just want o let you know that you've nothing to fear from me. The actual Alex is terrified of me, she thinks I'm someone to be terrified of, someone to hold inside and never let out but what she doesn't realise is that it's the only way to gain control. If she realises that in a battle she can change form in to a wolf like she did on the night of the full moon she will be able to gain control easily. Nick Fury was wrong when he said she couldn't control herself. She's been doing it ever since she was born, the only reason she's afraid to let me out is because she's afraid that if she does she won't be able to control me. She can, she's just too afraid," The wolf rattled off.
" Wait, hold on there, go back to the start, how is Alex changing form again in to you going to help?" Banner inquired.
" Well it will make her much more strong in a battle for one, and for another thing it'll help her to understand her powers so she can gain control and finally be let out of the cell," The wolf answered crossly.
" Well that does sound right, I'll tell her and let her decide," Banner promised.
" Good," the wolf answered. " And just to prove you can trust me I'll tell you something important, Alex's destiny is to save the world, not destroy it, she isn't and never has been evil and even when faced with an impossible situation she'll remain good," The wolf added with truth deep in her eyes.
" I must leave, I'll make sure Alex knows," Bruce told her reluctantly.
He didn't want to leave this wolf now that he was over his initial shock. The wolf had so much knowledge to share, she knew more than she was telling, that was for certain. Thankfully it wasn't dangerous knowledge, at least he didn't think so. And yet he left, reluctantly, but he left.
