" Release her, now!" Tony Stark yelled furiously.
" No, if I tell you about her father you will understand. All avengers report to my office," Nick Fury ordered icily.
The avengers sat at the large grey office table, each one of them wore steely expressions. They didn't know what to do. Though it was true she was dangerous, so were they. Nick Fury sat down carrying a mug of coffee with steam slowly drifting from its brown surface. His eyes searched the table until he looked up and began the tale.
" Her father's name was Eli Parks, he was one of our best, and most trusted agents. He had access to every part of the system. One day he was sent in a mission to infiltrate a hydra base. He was supposed to go undercover and collect information for us. He told us that he had located the main base and that we could easily take the base. He lied. We lost almost all of our men and Eli was captured by hydra for treason. His wife was tracked down and captured, along with their ten children, all of different ages. Alex was among the middle aged kids, from birth she was different, able to manipulate nature easily. She was blonde with the brightest blue eyes, she loved to wear pink and green. She was the only one I had record of. She was imprisoned too but she managed to get out. Her father sent her and her twin sister Eliza, to get our help. She made it here and begged for us to help but we couldn't help Eli. He is in the highest security prison hydra has. In the end we decided against helping him because he betrayed us. Alex understood this and was going to go back and fight for him herself but that wasn't to be. She and Eliza got lost in a forest. I realised that I had to stop her, she was too powerful to go back to hydra and get caught. The only way to ensure our safety was to lock her away in a freezing casket. That's where we left her, where no one would find her. Someone did. It was a full moon and all the wolves in America started to travel to that forest, to see their queen. Eliza followed them and set her sister free. When she was freed and thawed out she was darker, her powers had completely multiplied and changed, she was more powerful than I could ever imagine. I tried to track her down but she escaped in to the forest with Eliza. Her father and her family are still trapped in the hydra prison and Alex came back for revenge. When she found me I saw that she wasn't herself. She spoke in a deeper voice and had a look of hate in her eyes. There are two people in Alex, one half of her is the revenge filled, wild side. The other is the kind side. The kind side of her is the usual side you see but in a fight it's almost impossible to control the other side. She destroyed half the forest with a snap of her fingers. That's why I need to keep her locked away. She can't go back to hydra and get her family or she'll be caught and made in to one of their evil warriors. She can't be set free," Nick Fury explained wearily.
The avengers thought hard, all of them had different thoughts.
" We still can't leave them there. Maybe we could try and get her family out of the prison?" Hawkeye suggested.
" If the story is true then hydra won't give them up," Natasha commented dryly.
" We've still got to try," Tony argued.
" If Tony asks her then she might be able to tell us how she escaped so we could get in," Banner suggested hopefully.
" Why should Tony ask?" Nick wondered with interest.
" He seems to be someone she trusts. After all, he did let her out of her prison," Captain America explained.
Nick Fury nodded and Tony left the room.
" Maybe Eli can shed some light on to why he betrayed us," Nick Fury murmured." Alex, I need to ask you something," Tony announced himself as he entered the prison.
Alex glanced at him with a miserable expression. Tony smiled and held out a chocolate bar.
" What is this?" Alex asked as she took it.
" It's chocolate, you eat it," Tony answered in astonishment.
Alex shrugged and took a small bite. Instantly a look of disgust crossed her face. She handed him back the rest of the chocolate bar.
" Yuck! That's disgusting," Alex explained.
Tony Stark started to laugh loudly, he had never met someone who didn't like chocolate before. Then he remembered his mission.
" What is it you wanted to ask?" Alex asked.
He sat down next to her.
" Can you tell me about your time in the hydra prison? We need to know how you got out," Tony asked quietly.
The mood dampened instantly, Alex looked at him, terror in her expression. She seemed to be in her own little world, lost in her thoughts.
She looked at him with eyes that stared blankly, her face pale. Then she breathe deeply and her eyes cleared.
" I was seven when they came. The hydra soldiers grabbed my mother first, she tried to hide us but it didn't work. They found us and dragged us to a big van. We were thrown in and driven through the front entrance. I was old enough to know that they had discovered my father, and I was afraid. My baby sisters cried, their screams fill my ears now. Hydra questioned each of us, none of us gave anything away. One day they were going to hurt my mother but I reacted. I used a vine to choke the man who grabbed her. Now they knew I had powers they turned to torturing me instead. The rest I can't bring myself to talk about," Alex explained, sadness tinged her voice.
" You must try," Tony urged with a hand on her shoulder.
" It would be easier for me if I wasn't been recorded," Alex commented with a look at a corner of her cell.
Tony smiled, she was a smart kid.
With a sizzle the video camera exploded in a small cloud of fire. Alex shook with the weight of her memory.
" I must show you, for I have no words to explain what you're about to see. Tell me if it's too much," Alex murmured as she touched his head.
Instantly he saw what she was remembering, they were both watching the memory. From their place behind some boxes he saw nine children handcuffed to chairs. A young woman and a young man were also there. He knew that Eli Parks was the man he saw. The young woman was Alex's mother. He looked and saw Alex beside him. Her eyes were wide and filled with longing. A younger Alex was strapped to a long table. Skyler was beside her, holding a knife.
" Look kid! If you don't tell us what you're capable of then we'll show you what we are capable of," Skyler growled.
Younger Alex cast a look at her mother and father before nodding to them.
" Never," Alex snarled bravely.
Skyler shrugged hefted his knife, it was wickedly sharp but a bit blunt.
" You make one sound, she'd one tear, and I'll kill all of your precious family," Skyler threatened.
Tony sucked in a sharp breath and looked away quickly. He knew what was coming next and there was no way he was going to watch. Alex touched his arm lightly when it was safe to look and he saw Alex been dragged away, minus two legs. Her parents were dragged after her and so were her siblings. Soon he saw them in a cell, all huddled together.
" Alex, this is the best I can do for you. You and Eliza must go immediately and get help from Shield," Eli ordered anxiously.
Alex stood now, in new metal legs. She hugged her family and took off. She dragged herself through a small hole in the ceiling with Eliza beside her. Together they crawled through the roof until they were outside. It was hot outside, arid desert. He knew exactly where this was. Australia. With a gasp he was jolted out of the memory. He just sat gasping, making sure he could still breathe. Alex blinked at him, her eyes somber.
" Do you see now?" Alex asked.
" Yes, I do. Thank you," Tony answered with fear in his voice.
Ales nodded slowly, her eyes fixed blankly.
