In the Hospital

Beep, beep, beep. Was the sounds of the machines that I woke up to. I jumped and looked around to see where I was. I was in the hospital. No-one was in the room with me when I came too. I needed to know why I was here, how long had I been out, and when did I get here. I looked around the bed and found the remote attached to the bed to call for the nurse. "I'll be right in" she said.

When she walked in, I jumped. "Did I startle you dear?" she asked. "It's fine", I said. "My name is Nurse Thompson by the way, she commented. "I-I'm, Lauren, why am I here?" You were shot yesterday afternoon, my dear. It went in through your side and stopped, almost grazing your kidney". Who did this to me?" I asked, tears filling my eyes. I don't know but your family is here ma'am, would you like to see them?" "Yes, yes please".

When they walked in, I was very pleased to see them. Everyone ran up and hugged me softly. Hi dad, where's Tyler?" "He's out in the hall talking to his boss. They called him in tonight and he's explaining to them how he can't come toni..." Right before dad finished his sentence Tyler walked in. "Hey baby are you feeling okay?" I sat up and patted the bed next to me, motioning him to sit. Yes, I'm fine. Now that you're here. Lauren smiled as she said that. As he sat beside her, he felt her sliding over and pulling his arm around her. "You shouldn't move so much, babe." You're still healing." "I 'm sorry, I'll stay still if you move in closer to me" she smirked. Tyler slid over as much as he could. "Happy now?" Ecstatic, Lauren said softly before slipping back off to sleep land. The nurse came back in and said "You guys should go and let her rest. Visiting hours are almost over anyway. You can come back tomorrow when she's back up. It's just the medicine that we've given her for pain so she'll be in and out of it." Okay, said dad and Tyler in unison. And they left.
