Final Goodbyes

Lauren's POV

"When I woke up the next morning, there was a draft of air which lead me to know that I was alone. I lay in bed thinking of last night. Another glorious night, I thought to myself. I figured that Melanie went and got us some breakfast because that was what she normally did whenever we got away from our husbands. I never really understood why Mel liked to get away from her husband though. They always went on fancy dates after coaching, and then on the off seasons, they always took a 2 and a half weeks vacation to wherever they wanted to go. They were what me and Tyler looked forward too. 

I went in the bathroom and opened the cabinet and grabbed one of the fresh individual toothbrushes that I know the hotel keeps and brushed my teeth. I wouldn't want my mouth to taste like last night's pussy. I know I stood at that sink for like 5 whole minutes so that when I'm done here, I can go straight home to my husband. GOD I love that man. 

When I walked back into the room, I went to the dresser to get my phone to let Tyler know I was fine and that I'd be home shortly. When I was reaching for my phone, I see a neatly wrapped letter with my name on it. I immediately thought "this girl is so sweet to me". Feeling like a school girl, I open it feeling all giddy inside. After reading the first line, my heart dropped to my feet and I balled the letter up and ran for the door. I got downstairs and got a cab and told them Melanie's address. 

As we pull up to the door, I see that Melanie is still here. I search for my phone to call Tyler then I remember I grabbed the letter instead I grabbed the letter. "FUCK" I said. I asked the driver if he had a phone that I could call my husband. The driver handed me his phone and I dialed Tyler's number and told him to come and get me from Melanie's house. I gave the driver back his phone and I stepped out of the car and walked up to the door. I was about to knock but then I hear a gun shot and I ran to the car and told the driver to call 911. He quickly did so and I ran back to door. 

I knocked as hard I could and yelled for Melanie. "Melanie, I open the door. We can talk about this. Please!" The door opened but it wasn't Melanie, it was her husband and when he saw me, he grabbed me and pulled me into their house with him. He looked at Melanie and said look at here, your secret lover has to rescue you. He laughed a little then he slapped me. I fell to the floor landing in broken vase glass. I tried to get up but I was just cutting my hands and my head began swimming. He then grabbed Melanie and brought her over to me. 

"LOOK AT HER!" is she any prettier now? Does she make you still want to cheat on me? He kicked me. I winced in pain. I tried to roll over but my brain wasn't catching up to my body's action. I couldn't see anything. It was all a blur. Then I heard Melanie crying again. "Please stop, she's pregnant! You're gonna make her lose her baby! He laughed again and threw Melanie to the floor with me. He spat on the both of us and he walked away. Melanie hugged herself tightly to me. 

**Melanie Speaking To Lauren**

"I told you not to come here! I told you he was looking for you to finish killing you!" Melanie was crying hysterically now. He saw us that night we had sex in the guess room. He got back in town early because the boys lost their game. So to make himself feel better, he got tickets for us to go somewhere else unexpectedly. Lauren I'm sorry. I should have protected you more. I wish none of this happened. I hope one day you can forgive me. I love you. If I would have known he would have came for you this hard, I never would have slept with you. I just wanted to be with you and I should have divorced him first. I'm sorry. That's when I realized she was't moving anymore. 

Lauren, can you hear me? She didn't respond. I found the strength in my own body to sit up. After fighting a man whose as strong as my husband for so long today, I am drained. My whole body aches but right now I have to save Lauren. I grab a whole to the counter top and pull myself up. I hold on to the counter as I walk and grab my phone then I hear a loud bang and yelling saying to open the door. It was the cops. 

I yell, "I can't walk bust the door down". The cops rush in and grab me and handcuff me while the rest of them search the house for my husband. Then Tyler walked in. His eyes immediately found Lauren and he ran to her. "Baby, can you hear me?" I check her pulse and I yell to the nearest cop. MY WIFE, Sh-Sh- She's not breathing and she's pregnant. Please help.
