-Alan's P.O.V.-
I open my eyes and the pain begins to return to my body. I look around the room that is dimly lit and shiver, it's freezing in here. Where the hell am I? I turn to see Austin out cold next to me. I crawl over to his body and shake him.
"Dude. Austin, wake up!" I whisper yell. He doesn't move. "Austin. You have to wake up. We need to get the fuck out of here!" I start to punch his arm and he begins to groan. Finally. "Get up! We have to leave now!" I insist. He rolls onto his back and takes a deep breath. I lean back and sit, waiting for a reply. He rubs his hands over his face and drops them back to his sides. he takes a deep breath and looks over at me.
"Where are we?" He mumbles. I look around nd see ffour white walls, theres a door but there's not handle from the inside. Boxes are stacked everywhere and it's getting colder every minute.
"How the fuck would I know?" I say with bitterness in my tone. "All I know is that it's freezing and that we need to find Edith." My eyes widen and a gasp. From just saying her name, everything comes back to me. Oh my fucking god no, where is she?! There's no way that she's ok right now, I need to get out of here!
""Oh fuck, where is she?" Austin syas starting to get up and look around. He stands up and runs over to piles of boxes hoping that she's in this room. She would have moved, or something if she was in here, there's no way that she is.
"Austin, she's not in here. We need tp find a way out. That's our first priority." He stops in his tracks and runs his hand through his hair.
"No, no, we have to find her before anything else. Getting out is not our first priority!" He starts of normal but ends up yelling. I can tell he's stressed, but he doesn't get my point.
"Well we can't find her if we don't get out of this fucking room huh? Dumbass!" I yell. Austin opens his mouth to say something nasty right back at me but he sighs and starts to look around the room. "First of all we need to figure out where we are." I say starting to calm down. Austin looks around the room and sits on a box, he runs his hand through his hair.
"I don't fucking know man, we could honestly be anywhere right now! We have no idea how long we've been out, we have no fucking idea where Edith is, we're clueless!" He shouts as he stands up from the box. I stand and put my hands up.
"Calm down. Just look around and try and see if you recognize anything!" I shout. I can't take him getting pissed at me because I'm trying to get us out of here. This is not gonna fly. "I'm just trying to fucking get us out of here. Jesus." I mumble. I hear Austin kick some boxes and he sighs angrily then groans. Why the hell am I stuck in this situation?
Austin gasps and snaps his finger. I turn to see what idea he has now but he's staring at some writing above the doorway.
MN MEATPACKING INDUSTRY.
Austin jumps and punches the air. "Fuck yeah!" He shouts as he begins to run over to the corner of the room and starts to throw boxes everywhere.
"What the hell are you doing?" I ask walking towards him slowly. All I can see is the biggest grin on his face that I've ever seen in my life. "What's going on dude?" I ask. He turns to me as he throws another box to the other side of the room.
"Help me get to the wall, you'll be no use just standing there." He demands. I stand there, more confused than I've ever been in my life. "Help me." He says firmly. I rush over to him and throw boxes haphazardly all over the room. I can't tell what's in them, but they're heavy. I'm assuming it's meat but I really don't wanna open up any boxes and find out.
"What are we doing?" I shout over the loud noise of what I hope to be meat, flying everywhere. Austin doesn't say a word, he's determined to find the wall for god knows what reason. The wall didn't seem so far away, just kidding. It feels as if we'd be moving these boxes forever, hopelessly searching for help.
My arm begins to grow weak as the amount of boxes never seemed to end. I didn't think this was going to be such a large room, but since we started moving things, about 20 feet of this room had been revealed. I fucking hope this is worth it, I thought. I'm getting anxious, I still have no idea what we're even doing this for, and that pisses me off. I stop throwing boxes, exhausted.
"What are you doing?" asks Austin. I sigh and lean on one of the boxes for support.
"What are you doing?" I ask. Austin looks confused and looks back to the boxes. I can tell he's getting angry, he's throwing the boxes with a lot more force and just has the most pissed off expression I've ever seen in my life. "Austin!" I shout, he doesn't stop what he's doing. I hear him grunt as he throws one box halfway across the room.
"My dad used to work here with Edith's dad! He showed me it once, he told me in this room there was a secret hatch in the corner of the room to get out of here. They have no idea why, but they keep it there anyway!" He shouts as he continues to dig through.
My heart beats faster as I get an adrenaline rush, I need to do this, get out and find Edith. I turn back around and start to move as many boxes as I can, not throwing them, but just pushing them out of the way, it seems to be quicker. Austin catches on to my strategy and does the same.
We dig and dig our way through for a few more minutes. I pick up one box and throw it behind my head, I turn around to see an amazing sight, I stop what I'm doing. We had reached the wall, now all we had to do was find the hatch.
Austin and I high-five and continue to push boxes out of the way and soon ebough, we see a small square outline on the wall with a handle sticking out of it. I grab the handle and pull as hard as I can but it doesn't budge. Obviously this thing hasn't been open in years.
Austin pushes past me and gives it another pull, it opens abrubtly and Austin flies back into me. I loosened it for him, I thought. I look into the tunnel and all I see is darkness, no light at the end to signify that there is a way out.
"Well, shall we?" asks Austin. I nod and lead the way for him to go, there's no way I'm going through first. "Follow close behind me in case something goes wrong." He whispers. I nod and wait for him to climb in, it was just big enough to crawl in. He climbs in and crawls a bit then motions for me to come in. I hop up and begin to crawl, all of the cement walls are wet, it feels more like a sewer than an escape route.
By the time we reach the end my knees and elbows are scraped up and bruised, it's not the best way to be. Austin climbs out and I follow, we're right next to the back entrance of the building. We sprint over to a group of trees and try to blend into the night.
"So where do you think Edith is?" He whispers. I look around the building and examine the entrances.
"Uhhh... I'd say she's somewhere in...." I look around more. We hear a door open and hide behind our tree's. I swear to god if we get caught right now, I think. Austin and I turn our heads to see who burst out the door, we see someone running... and it's a girl.... and....
Austin nudges me. "Found her!" He whisper yells. I go to run after her but I hear the door open again. This time it's couple of guys, who I would assume are after Edith.
"Hey! Get back here!" They shout, running after her. Oh shit! I thought, They're gonna kill her!
"Austin we need to follow them, quietly." I whisper. Austin nods and we run from tree to tree, trying to follow the men who want to kill my best friend. This just gets better and better doesn't it?
