-Edith's P.O.V-
I wake up to the sound of my phone going off. Who the hell was calling me? I roll over and rub the tiredness out of my eyes. My phones still ringing, I sigh and decide to answer.
"Hello?" My tone is sharp. Who ever woke me up better have a good reason.
"Hey Edith. Wanna go to the beach today?" It's Alan. His voice sounds cheery and I lighten up a bit.
"Oh um, yeah sure." I mumble, I'm still tired as hell.
"Ok. Be here by one. That's when Austin's picking us up. See ya." He hangs up his phone as I start to speak.
"Wait Austin's going wi- Ahh you bitch you hung up on me." I take a deep breath and think over what I just agreed to. I'm going to the beach, with Austin. What am I thinking? Am I crazy?
I take a deep breath. Ok. Ill just go and leave early. Alright. Ok. I get out of bed and check the time. It's 12:30! Shit! I run to my bathroom and put my hair up in a quick bun. It doesn't matter, I'm just going to the beach. I slide on some eyeliner and run to my room to grab my swimsuit. After I'm changed I slip on some shorts, a cat tank top, and some shades and I head out to Alan's house.
........
It's 13:55 when I reach Alan's house, he's sitting on his front steps waiting for Austin.
"Hey! Just in time! Austin texted me, he's almost here." He shouts. I walk up to the steps and sit beside him.
"So you ready to go to the beach?" Alan asks. I nod. I'm actually not. I'm actually a nervous wreck.
I looked at the ground but soon enough, Austin's car pulls up, a silver convertible. Alan picks up his towel and heads to the car, I was close behind. We hop in the car and hit the road. The beach was a short drive away, we lived near a lake.
The whole way there Austin is blasting Slipknot, not a surprise. Both the boys jam out in the front seats. This was going to be a long day.
I look out at my neighborhood and think. Why did I agree to go with? This is a terrible idea. I should just stay at home. And now I have to make up a story for my bruises. Fuck.
We pull up to the beach, thank god no one is here. It'll be just us three...
A car honks behind us and I hear Kat's notorious laugh. How Phil puts up with it, I will never know. At least now I have Kat here so I have someone to flee to when things get awkward. We all exit our cars and walk to the beach. I'm sure to stick by Kat, which is hard when her and Phil are inseparable.
I kick off my shoes and walk in the sand, it's smooth and warm. I plop down next to Kat, Alan on my right and Austin one over.
"What up?!" Someone's running up behind us. I turn around to see Tino and Aaron running down the beach to us. I smile and wave.
"I invited these losers if that's ok with you guys." Says Phil with a smile. Austin stands up and gives both the boys high fives.
"I say we play some-" Austin gets cut off by Tino.
"EXTREEEEEME VOLLEYBALL!" Tino shouts. All the boys run over to the net. Alan looks over at me.
"I'll be right back." He says with a smile. I nod and turn to Kat who is already in her swimsuit and tanning. I take off my tank top and lay back in the sand, feeling relaxed for once.
"So did you tell your dad you were gonna be here? I know how worried he gets about you." Kat asks. I gulp and remember how nice my dad is to my friends, except for Alan. When I'm gone he'll call Kat and ask where I am very politely. He's such an actor.
