Humanity's Last Stand

Part 2

Charging through the streets, the zombies swung their arms, and launched spikes from their skins. Shiki drew his sword, slashed every spike coming his way.

"Now, blow them away!" Andrew blasted them with his machine gun, killing them in rows and rows.

Taking the opportunity, Shiki darted towards each zombie, cutting their heads with his blade.

A screamed echoed. Shiki turned. Zombies bitten into three soldiers and they dropped their guns. How the hell did they get there? He looked up the roof. From there? That means these bastards have intelligence now, how did that change in just 2 months?

Quickly, Shiki dashed towards the zombies and cut their heads. The blood splattered on his cheek "Andrew, get these guys into the camp with everyone else, I'll hold position."

Andrew nodded "You better stay alive," he carried the three men and retreated whilst Amashuta remained shooting zombies down with his handgun.

"We'll stand here and hold our ground," Shiki looked at the rookie "We need to buy everyone time to evacuate."

"I have a better idea," Amashuta pulled out his detonator "We'll blow the buildings up and pile them under," he clicked.

The buildings exploded, blarred througout the city as they crushed the zombies under the impact.

"Hell yeah," Amashuta smirked "Take that straight to hell you ugly bastards," he swung his hand in happiness

Then the earth sounded gigantic steps. Amashuta and Shiki wide eyed. A giant whacked the buildings aside with its bare hands.

Shiki sighted a woman inside the building next to him. What? How the hell did she not get evacuated?!

"Holy crap," Amashuta retreated whilst shooting the giant's legs "Shiki, we have to get back now!"

The giant stomped closer. The woman whimpered as she held her head and closed her eyes.

Shiki roared and sprinted towards the giant. His bandaged arm glowed. And he hammered the giant's belly with a punch. The giant plummeted down the ground and the earth shook.

Panting, Shiki rushed into the house and glanced towards the giant who was still down. He turned towards the woman "What the hell are you doing?! You have to leave now!"

"I don't want to see those things," she shrilled under her voice and her body trembled as she held.

Shiki ran towards her, yanked her arm and ran outside the building "Well I am not letting you die."

The giant pushed its body back up with its hand and turned its head towards them both as they ran away.

Crap. Shiki glanced backwards and the giant chased him. That thing will catch up at this rate.

A shadow loomed over them. Shiki looked up and the giant's hand came down at them. He pushed the woman ahead.

The hand smashed him to the ground. He made a aching noise as his spine hammered under the hand. Shiki glanced towards the woman "Now, go!"

Quickly, the woman retreated towards the camp. The giant swung its hand, smashing him into the building.

Shiki's back smacked through the window and against the wall. He coughed as the pain reverberated across his body.

He watched the giant stomped towards the direction where the woman was heading. The pain kept his body down.

The giant continued pursuing the woman and was coming closer. Then the woman tripped over and hit the ground.
