Shiki sat inside the camp with his body bandaged up in wraps. The place was filled with many injured soldiers and civilians in bed and the only doctor treating them. Who could've shut down the electricity?
Amashuta entered the camp and sat near him "How's your wounds?" He glanced towards the bandaged ribs "I am sorry that I left you behind."
"Don't worry about it," Shiki said "Do you think someone here could've shut down the electricity or was this just a case of careless workers?"
"I doubt workers would slack off knowing the risks so I am guessing that someone set this up," Amashuta said "I'll dig up any clues once we break through to the electricity generator building."
Andrew came in and greeted them "Heard you were here so I came in to check," he sat near them "You two will be heading to the electricity plant while Roy and Hanzo will hold back the horde creatures with the remaining soldies."
"That's insane," Amashuta said "Those soldiers will die, they're too outnumbered to fight the creatures."
"I know but this is the only way," Andrew said "I wish I could you join you but I have to stay here and guard the remaining civilians."
Roy entered the base with a tall individual whose name was Yamagata "Commander Hanzo is ready to send out the order."
The remaining soldiers gathered outside the camps in lines, preparing to charge into battle. Shiki joined up with the other soldiers along with Amashuta and Yamagata.
"The key to this is the electricity generator that lies in city, we need break through the enemy's ranks and get in there, reactivate it and we'll have ample enough energy to rebuild the gates and kill these things," Hanzo said.
"How are we going to do that with so little numbers?" asked a young soldier probably not even old enough to be called an adult
Hanzo pointed towards Shiki "He will pave the way with his power, you will see why the Colonel named him as the his subordinate," he continued "Once he cut down the horde's numbers, we'll kill them as much as possible whilst Shiki and Amashuta head to the electricity generator."
Though hearing that, Shiki did not like the idea that he was going to leave the soldiers behind but he knew there was no other way.
The soldiers marched onto the dismantled outer city. On the other end, the horde creatures awaited them and giants mixed in with the bulk.
"Charge!" Roy screamed as he pointed and the soldiers galloped towards their enemies, shooting them.
Shiki drew his sword with both hands and swung his sword. The slash released a massive energy that sliced apart many horde creatures. Exhausted. His bandaged arm throbbed.
Amashuta shook his head "I know a shortcut that we can take," he walked towards the other way.
"What about them?" Shiki stared at the soldiers bravely fighting the horde creatures "We're going to leave them?"
"This is war Shiki, we can't save everyone but we can stop the horde," Amashuta headed onwards.
Shiki reluctantly followed him. The two passed through dead soldiers, working men, women and children "What do these things even want from us?"
"That's something no one knows," Amashuta said "They don't eat us nor do they want any material from us so its a mystery."
They reached the electricity generator plant and engineers were down on the ground, laid dead along with the soldiers. Shiki inspected the bodies. Their bodies slashed, perhaps by a sword.
